In fact scrap that, not just my week, quite possibly of the year so far, even beating my 10 year wedding anniversary last month. So what is this amazing event that has got me so excited...
FIRST LOT OF WASHING HANGING OUT ON THE LINE!!!!!!! 🥂🥂🥂🥂🎉🎊
yep, that's right, I'm super excited that for the first time in what feels like forever I have got washing out airing. I know its not warm enough for it to dry and I'll have to finish it in the radiator but I'm so happy it's out getting blown in the fresh air, I love the feel of it afterwards, and even better its bedding so I can put it on my bed tonight.
So aibu to be this happy about it, surely I can't be the only one?!?!

Thinking about possibly cutting the grass too, now that would make a great day.

And it's Friday - bottle of wine day.

nornironrock · 06/03/2020 15:30

@longtompot - I'm not quite that deranged!!!

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 06/03/2020 15:41

Yesterday would have been another great day for washing but sadly I was in work til 4, hopefully Tuesday will be another good drying day, when I'm next off 🤞🏻

We recently moved house and this morning I thought I could hang some washing outside except we don't have a washing line yet 😭 didn't think to buy any line yet. I cannot wait to get my washing out!! Fed up of over flowing wash baskets and airers everywhere!

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 06/03/2020 15:44

I'm so pleased to find out-other than one oddbod 😂- that I'm not the only one who gets excited about it!!!!! 😂 😂 😂

I love the smell of sun dried washing, can't wait for the heady days of being able to do more than one load in a day on the line.

michaelbaubles · 06/03/2020 15:49

Those blazing hot summer days when you can hang a load out, put another load on to wash and the first lot is dry by the time you go to hang the second lot out.

I mean sex is OK but it's not a patch on that feeling.

halfsoaked · 06/03/2020 15:50

Our laundry is out and it's the first day of the year we haven't had to have the heating on

Spied · 06/03/2020 15:51

I only like my washing all soft from to the tumble dryerBlush

Teacup34 · 06/03/2020 15:57

michaelbaubles I totally agree lol.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 06/03/2020 15:58

Yep to this

"Those blazing hot summer days when you can hang a load out, put another load on to wash and the first lot is dry by the time you go to hang the second lot out.

I mean sex is OK but it's not a patch on that feeling."

Watching the pile of dirty stuff disappear in one day is wonderful, rather the never ending cycle

RiftGibbon · 06/03/2020 16:01

Yes, finally got some things out on the line - it always smells so much fresher. If it stays fine tomorrow too, I might just catch up.

Hidingtonothing · 06/03/2020 16:03

I think I must be weird because I hate the way line dried washing smells I do dry outside when weather permits and I can't justify the dryer but it doesn't fill my heart with joy, think I must be defective Sad

MrsJBaptiste · 06/03/2020 16:22

I can bet that OP, I've just bought a Shark hoover to replace my cranky Dyson and it's bloody amazing! 😍

Definitely the highlight of my day week 🙆‍♀️

TheOrigBrave · 06/03/2020 16:23

I am fortunate to work from home so I peg my washing out at every opportunity.
It brings me more joy than it probably should, but I believe I am not alone in this. Small pleasures.

MintyMabel · 06/03/2020 16:32

Hate hanging out washing. It gets all a scratchy and covered in bugs.

Nousernameforme · 06/03/2020 16:37

I do miss the smell of the sun on washing but we can't have a line up here and no radiator drying allowed so it's tumbler all the way.
It does make them soft and no need to iron

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 06/03/2020 16:49

michaelbaubles completely with you on that one!!!
What is wrong with all of you, how can you not enjoy the feeling of freshly blown washing??? 😂😂😂😂

nosleepp · 06/03/2020 16:50

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 06/03/2020 18:12

OK, so have just brought my washing in so not only is it nicely freshly blown its getting a nice warm through on the radiators and making my house smell lovely 😊

I'm in the SE and have managed to dry quite a few loads outside over the winter. I do really love to see it flapping away on a breezy, sunny day though so YANBU to get excited about it.

Strictly1972 · 06/03/2020 18:52

The other day I noticed my neighbours washing blowing beautifully on the line in the sunshine & I actually got jealous. I was annoyed I hadn’t thought of doing the same.

Racheyg · 06/03/2020 19:04

I'm with you op. My towels are nice and dry. Roll on summer. I'm fed up with my sister room looking like a laundrette

looselegs · 06/03/2020 20:24

Been putting washing out for weeks- My nan always told me that if the garden path is drying, then the washing will! She's right!

Jellykat · 06/03/2020 20:33

I managed to hang mine out on Tuesday which was wonderful, it always smells so much cleaner when its been outside..
.. but then my washing machine died... bastard!
