To write a letter to the vendor? (Best and final offers)

I saw a house yesterday (already knew it was going to best and final offers) and I asked the estate agent if I could write a letter and she said of course and they would pass it on.

Then I was contacted for feedback and honestly the woman when I double checked it was ok made me sound like I was a off my head for wanting to send a letter.

Is it weird? I was just going to put my offer, position and just say that I’m not an investor and would love to purchase it to make it my home (nothing ott) just felt it was more personal.

Largeyellowdaffodil people post you letters every month even though you’re not selling?

Also the estate agent said to me that investors might not be that interested due to the amount of profit to be made? I don’t know .., don’t know why she’d say it if it wasn’t true though as she did encourage me to just pay what I could afford.

Yes, the house opposite went to sealed bids and sold for £80,000 over asking, although 3 years ago it didn't sell- which is odd. It sold for £200,000 odd more than it was for sale 3 years ago. We have a big garden (for a town) which shows very well on google maps.

My DD is buying a house- when she gave her address to make a viewing on a house the estate agent tried to come round to see her at home! They are one that writes to us every few months.

Don't see how as a seller anything but £££ is going to make a difference
We actually won over a higher offer but the other buyers were in a chain and we weren't. It might not always make a difference but being in a strong position to proceed like that really helped us at least.

In a recent sale, we got a letter through the door the night before our best and final offer. Basically just said they loved the house wanted it be a family home etc. We did sell to them, they were proceedable and they were the third highest offer, about £7k between them and the highest. But there were factors about the other two bids we weren't keen on (highest was actually a cash offer). And there was something about selling to them that seemed right. We wouldn't have done it for say, £20k less, but we'd made a good profit on the house regardless and we felt this was the right decision.
