Has anyone experienced similar? Any recommendations for a good Lawyer, ideally helping working mums. I would like to get some legal advice?

It is discrimination because men don't have babies, so would never be treated in this way. Write everything down as you think of it. And I mean every little thing, as it all counts. It's also constructive dismissal if you feel you have no option but to leave. However, you must attempt to mitigate your losses by applying for jobs. Keep a log of everything you apply for. Your case sounds identical to mine. I left, I never went back. And I took them to a tribunal and won. It is so worth the hard slog xx

@gokartdillydilly actually it is not discrimination due to men don't have babies, this is simply breach of attendance policy and a denial of flexible working request due to performance related issues.

The OP is better off getting assistance from ACAS/employment law specialists rather than sofa experts on here (and I am happy to include myself on that) as we only receive part of the story (and it already is inconsistent) and their own policy might be more in depth than those that we have in our own companies.

FYI men are also subject to discrimination due to having children, in fact if that male is a single parent it can be harder for that person as most managers might not personally acknowledge/recognise it.

@tbhf
It was cited as sex-discrimination in my case, due to the fact that I was a woman and a man wouldn't have been in the same situation. I'm not sure that the OP's case is similar to mine (the OP sounded that way), and I'm sure her legal representative will go through everything and decide if there's a case to be heard.
