Aibu to wonder what makes a good mum? Today I feel like a bad one as we've been in all day despite the nicer weather.

I don't think spending a day indoors sometimes makes a person a bad parent.

I also don't think there's a definition of a good mum. You just do your best, feed them, keep them safe whenever you can, let them make mistakes, read to them, kiss them on the noggin, tell them you love them and hope for the best.

staying in one day isn’t being a bad mom. i dont think you can pin point what a good mom is. as long as they try their best, make sure they’re fed, safe, warm and happy then that’s a good mom.

A mum that loves her kids and shows it. That love can be shown in many ways, including lazy days in doing fuck all.

Mine love lazy sundays! Been out with their dad this morning/afternoon. Come home, small roast dinner, shower n in their pj's, they love chilling at home!

So I'm taking that as a win as they want to be here chilling out

It's good to do nothing sometimes 👍 kids need to switch off sometimes too. I'm sure you're a fab mum, most are 😉

I think that people who worry they're a bad mum very rarely are! The weather is pants today and my DD loves a pyjama day so am happy to oblige!

A good mum is one who disturbs you and stops you doing enjoyable indoor things to take you out just because it is nice weather. Grin (not).

If it makes you feel any better, we've been in all weekend. DS is a bit of a home body like me so we couldn't convince him to go to the park. But we played, danced to music, played with kinetic sand, did some drawing and painting... We had some lovely quality time together.

I don't think being a good mum is based on whether you take your kids outside or what activities you do together. It's much deeper than that.
