Where we celebrate life, and its good things? Real good things, not desires imposed by others, or an "instagrammable" life.

I have recently changed from a high profile career and a high social media following into a much more modest job. I deleted all my social media and did a professional disappearing act! I have even changed my name not to be found! I feel so happy and free!

But I miss the few positive interactions of social media, the windows on other people's inner beauty and wisdom, and their different positivity.

I thought we could have a little happiness and gratitude corner where we are happy for who we are, grateful to be alive and if we are not help each other to get there?

A new era of your life... exciting?!

I'm on Twitter with a lot of followers but I've learnt you can't argue with stupid, and Mute is useful plus Block of course! There are some vile people out there and I am very strict with myself to not engage when someone is OTT insulting to me... block and move on, that's me.

I'm not on IG at all, my adult DCs tell me it's not for me Grin

And FB is strictly locked down with about 29 friends who are rellies I don't see much, so can keep in touch that way. MN has been my go-to place for about 16 years but I do feel like a bit of a relic at times!

Great idea for a thread OP Smile
GoodNewsNetwork is nice and also has an app

Roussette · 01/03/2020 11:53

Can someone link to Cynefin? When I googled it I came up with a lot of random stuff

Roussette · 01/03/2020 11:54

Thanks for the Good News network tip!

I am a late twitter joiner. I don’t follow any politics or telly, so am pig ignorant about influencers and miss the gossip. But I do follow Ian McMillan (the poet/broadcaster) who, and whose followers, only posts nice things. Photos of nature. Musings about tea. Bits of poetry.

Pinterest isn’t “stock” images, it’s images from the internet, with some (users’) original content, posted by users. You choose what to pin and can have “boards” for whatever topic you want.

Eg DH has ones for gardening ideas and music. I have a “virtual” bookshelf and holiday ideas, and one with motivational quotes!

Follow 1Bike1World on Instagram. A Scottish man cycling around the world and he found a kitten. He decided to take her on the trip. It's great.

Ah yes, one man and his cat (Nala). One of my cat accounts - love them!

Also, see pet_disneyfication. I commissioned her to do a picture of my dog and cat - LOVE IT!

I like Bored Panda. A sort of photography /art site. Some of it is beautiful and some hilarious. Often threads about cats/dogs doing adorable things.

Glad you like it Roussette Smile

Cinammon there was a lovely article with couples all over the world who have been married over 30 years saying how they met, and why they've stuck together.

Ye gods, it was so lovey dovey (but so sweet) I've been married over 30 years and think I need to spread the luuuurve between me and DH a bit more!

Thanks for cynefin link. Will look!

I've seen bike and kitten man!

This is a site I really enjoy but it is for urban nerds (not that I am one, but the photography is superb) I am in awe of these people... who spent days/weeks/months getting into disused buildings and photographing them. The decaying glory of turn of the last century buildings
