To remove ds from this nursery

My son has a cows milk allergy and has been given beef chilli for lunch with cheese on top. The nursery know all about his allergy and I have even gone to the lengths of creating an information sheet for them to explain what he can/can't have. I picked him up after lunch yesterday and nothing was mentioned about the cheese until I rang to ask exactly what he had been given for lunch as he was showing signs of a reaction, and was then told about the cheese. He has now been vomiting all afternoon and overnight and has come out in a rash and we have all had a very miserable night with lots of wind/crying and not much sleep.
Aibu to pull him out of this nursery and find another? This is the first incident that I am aware of with my ds but I do know there was an incident a few months ago with another child who has a much more severe allergy who they had to call ambulance for.
Thanks

In my child's current nursery they have individual placemats for each child, which detail any allergies or dietary requirements.

What a great system.

There is no excuse for this at all. Report to OFSTED and complain in writing to the nursery. Ask for a WRITTEN explanation of what went wrong and what they are doing to avoid any further lapses. Then base your decision on this response.

If they attempt to gloss over or minimise this error, I would see it as clear evidence that this is not a suitable place for your child as they clearly don't have the ability to take allergies seriously, nor take responsibility for doing so.

I'm lunchtime co-ordinator at a large primary school and we have several layers of protection around the numerous children with allergies on site. Not least that I know every single child and the details of their allergies. I genuinely fail to understand what kind of gross incompetence has led to your situation.

We do the placemats too, @Ianthemum

That is so worrying to hear. I wouldn't say you are being unfair to not send him back, but it does need reporting. My son still has a milk allergy at 7 and I have had to have a few words with the school and it was always a worry.
