Please.. Anything!

Anything positive going on in your life right now that you want to shout about? Something that had made you smile or cheered you up?

Or even some positive world news?! I just can't take anymore corona threads! Grin

The contracts arrived today for 4 pieces of music I’m getting published 😬

DS' dream has always been to go to Sandhurst but he failed the medical. He appealed in Nov and has heard this week that his appeal was successful.

OhWellThatsJustGreat · 28/02/2020 22:46

I'm loving these!!
Need to see the vagina painting too!!!

Nothing as great as some of the others, but I managed to increase my shoulder press by 2.5kg today for 2 sets.

NomDeQwerty · 28/02/2020 22:47

After a really tough few years family-wise a DC was accepted for a much wished for job. All the sweeter for things having been an utter shit show.Smile

Dinomom52 · 28/02/2020 22:50

I’ve had a stressful shitty week which culminated in a mistake at work today 🤦‍♀️

Came home to two kids that have both had awards at school today, 1 for something he really struggles with. Just small awards, they’re only 7 & 4 but one has asd & the other (who’s not the most academic) got 100% on a test. So proud of both of them 😊.

I finally went to the toilet after 2 weeks. I swear I heard a marching band go down the street in honour.

FuckingHateRats · 28/02/2020 22:53

My S1s were doing an extended writing task so I said I'd chuck some music on for them. Put on my Spotify saved songs, on random.

12yrs old and almost all of them knew the words to Oasis, Fleetwood Mac and also Bonnie Tyler's 'Holding out for a Hero'.

Made my heart SWELL. Loveliest little people.

Skinandbones · 28/02/2020 22:54

I got to see my first grandchild today. She smiles when she hears my voice and has her grandad completely wrapped round her little finger. Just love her to bits.

BonnesVacances · 28/02/2020 22:55

I picked up a second hand sofa today that I didn't think would fit in my car, but it did. So I saved £55 on a man with a van. And it looks fab!

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 28/02/2020 22:56

My DDs friend was quite inconsolable earlier and I got her to smile by telling her something silly that I'd done. I'd already made a fool of myself so it wasn't going to get worse and the smile I got was worth it.

FuckingHateRats · 28/02/2020 22:56

I wish we had a 'like' function for some of these 🥰

YourVagesty · 28/02/2020 22:58

I had two articles published in a big American magazine today. Another article coming out in a high quality British magazine next week. Life is good. Smile

AwdBovril · 28/02/2020 22:58

I am laying in bed in my new house, we moved in today. We've been homeless for several weeks & the council accepted us for social housing. It even has a little garden! (I've never had a garden!)

SallyLovesCheese · 28/02/2020 23:00

Not going to shout about this, but I've just realised that OLD isn't, in fact, a specific dating website for mature people, it actually stands for online dating.

Hannsmum · 28/02/2020 23:05

@theneighbourswindchime this cracked me up 🤣🤣🤣

Xiaoxiong · 28/02/2020 23:05

My 6 year old put himself to bed tonight. Two years ago, I honestly thought I was going to run away from my life I was so miserable and frustrated - every night was hours of bedtime battles, coming down every 5 mins, screaming, crying, sitting by the bed, lying on top of him to keep him in bed, etc. Tonight he did his teeth, PJs, read a book until I told him it was lights out, and then I walked out and he actually fell asleep on his own.

Sewingbea · 28/02/2020 23:09

Still happy from yesterday's news; my friend heard that the lump she had removed is benign.

mummatoreds · 28/02/2020 23:11

My partners nan (80) told me she loves me today, I cried because love her so much and my grandparents died 7 years ago so to hear that made me feel at peace xx

VividImagination · 28/02/2020 23:11

It’s Friday! I’m slumming it at home with my husband, 3 boys and my lovely dog. What’s not too like?

sheepysheep · 28/02/2020 23:20

I’m getting married tomorrow :-)

winniethekid · 28/02/2020 23:21

I just got offered a new job which is just what I wanted and is only five minutes from home.

Wuzzle85 · 28/02/2020 23:23

My LO napped in her cot today rather than in a moving pram. Then had a wonderful swimming lesson with her where, for the first time, she didn’t cry when she went underwater.

PennyRoyal · 28/02/2020 23:27

Love reading these. Life is good, I pray there is always more good than bad in this world.

pooopypants · 28/02/2020 23:35

I've finally nailed.down the final bit to decorating the only room in our house which has been untouched since we moved in, 6 years ago. DH isn't overly impressed that I've got gloss on his beloved (read: vile) laminate flooring but I care not a jot. This time next week, there will be papered and painted walls and a nice carpet down.

The catalyst for this? HIS parents coming for a 3 month visit Hmm

Davros · 28/02/2020 23:55

After recent mastectomy, consultant told me no chemo is required
Me and my Dsister made up after our first row since we were kids (I'm 60!)
I had a lovely conversation about identity politics with 16 year old DD who is really very bright despite struggling with formal education
Had a laugh in the queue in the supermarket
