to think the Government should not be boycotting Good Morning Britain or the Today programme during the current health situation

They shouldn't be boycotting them at all.

But when we are in the middle of a health crisis, with panic buying and some worst case predictions, why isn't Matt Hancock appearing on the popular breakfast show on ITV?

Government figures should be heard and available during a crisis. We need to know what plans they have.

Yet the Government is boycotting these 2 programmes. Not a good look

Im not sure id notice Matt Hancock was there if he stood infront of me saying 'Im Matt Hancock' TBF.

What crises are we talking about?

He wears a badge saying "I love the NHS" if that helps.

This is of course a gift for the Opposition. If the Government won't come on to these programmes, then the Opposition should. Put forward their point of view and their criticisims.

Then the presenters just have to say "Well we asked the Government to respond but they are boycotting us"

It is straight out of the Trump playbook. The White House Press Briefing has vanished.

The Cobra Committee are meeting on Monday for further discussions on the Covid-19 crisis so we've been told to expect more information then.

But no interviews for GMB or R4 Today?

Interesting update:

Downing Street has agreed to end boycott of Today programme so ministers can go on air to discuss Coronavirus

Lee Cain, No 10's director of communications, told aides tonight he had agreed with BBC that there was a 'public interest' in having ministers on national broadcaster

Newsflash: this government doesn't give a fuck about people, only very rich ones and their cronies.

Today's become a flagship new programme?

I thought it was the John Humphries' version of Grumpy Old Men, complete with disablism, sexism and, on his days off, the I Hate Jeremy Corbyn Show.

I stick to Radio 3 in the morning. Bach Before 7 is far nicer way to pass time on the way to work.

Today's become a flagship new programme

7.2 million people tune in each week to it

But I guess the Government thinks that they are not the people they need to be talking to.

I am surprised they are boycotting Good Morning Britain.
