To go to an interview after accepting another job?

I accepted Job A a few weeks ago. After interviewing for Job A and waiting for the outcome I saw Job B, a job of the same grade but closer to home. I applied.

I accepted Job A when it was offered. I regret this now, but didn't want to decline it and fail to get Job B. Job B have now offered an interview.

WIBU to go for it? I have a 11mo so the distance is significant to me. It's a senior nursing job.

Oh gosh I’m in this position as well!

I accepted job A last week and was slightly regretting it. This week Job B wanted another interview so I went to it yesterday. I felt bad but I really liked the sound of Job B. As it turns out job B is a nightmare commute so whilst it is a great job, the location is not really feasible. I wouldn’t have known that if I hadn’t gone to the interview as on paper the journey seemed ok but in practice it was not.

So I’m sticking with job A, I’m not starting for a while so I’m hoping I don’t come across something else which looks more attractive.

Does anyone know what happens if you’ve actually signed the contract and then you CJ ange your mind?

then you change your mind that should have said

Of course you go for it! Yes Job A might be slightly inconvenienced if you take B but that's not your problem - you do what's right for your family.

Go to the interview. If you get offered the job, do what is best for you and your family, and don’t feel bad!

If both jobs were equal then it would be unreasonable but with one being much closer to home then I'd go for it, work life balance is important

Have you got an unconditional job offer for job A?

Even if you have, it’s just a job! I pulled out of a job recently. They won’t even remember by name now. It’s not like job A will be sitting around wailing and weeping if you decline.

I've been in this position recently. I interviewed for Job A, B and C. Job A was part time with a hefty commute, Job B was full time with 10 minute drive, and Job C was full time with a hefty commute. I was offered them all, but Job A offered first and I accepted the offer as didn't want to bet on the uncertainty of being offered the others. When I was offered Job B I withdrew from A and declined the offer of C. I felt awful, but ultimately I had to do what was best for ME, just as companies interviewing will do what is best for them.

You've done nothing wrong. Absolutely go to the interview. I would.
