To ask about middle age spread?

I’m in my late 40’s and am struggling with my weight. I eat one meal a day mon-fri and relax a bit on the weekend but don’t go overboard.

I’m reasonably active and average 10k steps a day.

I really don’t understand why I can no longer lose weight when restricting my calories has always worked in the past.

Can your age really effect your ability to lose weight or is that a myth? Just wondered if anyone else was struggling at middle age with weight loss?

I didn't used to have to worry in my 30s, lost my baby weight both times and more when breasfeeding, lowest I got down to was 7st10, usually weighed between 8 and 8st7 (I'm 5ft5, small build, cannot carry a lot of weight). Last year I got up to 9st11, have lost half a stone since the beginning of January, have another half to go, which will make me feel ok but still heavier than I've been previously. Going gradually, not fast losses for me even in the first week, but cannot starve or fast or cut out snacks completely, just going for less overall. Also trying and on my way to accepting that its not a case of being on or off a diet, just cannot take my eye off the ball or say sod it for days weeks, months at a time and eat what I want anymore, unless I don't care about being heavier. I do care so just have to do moderation with some treats. Its probably going to take me until Summer to get to where I want to be, but determined to keep it off this time. I'm 45 by the way and hormonal changes are kicking in.

Eating nice a day is your problem. You need to eat across the day

Those "naturally thin women" (EB, AR) look scrawny.

Is this a picture of a "naturally thin woman"?
I ask coz my measurements are similar to hers.
I'd say she's voluptuous. Can a "naturally thin" woman also be voluptuous?

I am really struggling with this. Nearly 52 and unless I eat practically nothing the weight just piles on. So bloody boring.
@TheHagOnTheHill would you mind saying how you managed to shift the weight and well done for doing it!
