Do you think it's unfair on the children to leave them

I have fantasised about being on Hunted since series 1. I bore the rest of the family with comments like "you see I would...."

Trouble is I like to wee in loos, rather than fields, and get grumpy if I get hungry or thirsty.

Please audition OP.

cultkid · 26/02/2020 15:21

They called me yesterday to ask more questions
I really hope they ask me

@gallgal did you apply?

Imagine if we both got picked

I'm glad you're feeling better
It's been an emotional process

I have a strategy for Hunted too. It's one of the few shows I'd give actual thought to applying for. The other one is the travel one - where you have a set amount of money to get to different destination points around the world - can't remember its name, but it looks fantastic.

Hunted always seemed too contrived to be good - lots of people have decent plans but it does seem like they have certain rules which makes them get caught - not to mention the camera crew following them around which is pretty obvious.

I would have burner phones, a car registered to a friend which is not immediately linked - to get a head start and a good tent for any impromptu get aways to have somewhere to sleep. Also in the first series they let you stash money at home so you didn't need to go to the bank. I've not seen the latest one but it seems like they've changed that.

I also remember the woman that hitchhiked which is a brilliant if very unsafe idea!

cultkid · 26/02/2020 15:26

I can't think of a quicker way to earn 100k 🤷🏽‍♀️

It would be SO hard without the kids and my husband because I love them SO much and I am never away from my family

Plus my parents live in another country so I am very attached to my husband and children as they are my world

But I want to prove to myself I can do it

And also to someone like I was 2 years ago in the depths of despair and illness watching from bed crying for freedom... you can get better and you can find ways to heal and this can be an option for you in the future if you want it to be
I used to weep watching it missing the outdoors

If it inspired one person to make some changes to try and get well

@TooMuchBloodyChoice loved that travel one too! I would do that as well 🤭 when they went all the way around the world? Loved it

I'm guessing you are a woman ...... because a man would never think 'should I disappear for 2 weeks for a TV game show.' Hmm He'd just bloody do it!

Of COURSE you should do it (if you have the support network around you to do it!) Smile

Good luck @cultkid Grin

gallgal · 26/02/2020 15:46

I didn't apply this time @cultkid so you do it for both of us! Will totally hide you too.

cultkid · 26/02/2020 15:56

I'm 100% woman

OP posts:
cultkid · 26/02/2020 15:57

@gallgal

I will remember this user name
If I get chosen I'll come and tell everyone on MN and then I'll remember some of the usernames to message people

OP posts:
porple · 26/02/2020 16:02

Definitely do it! We’ll all help you out

Talulahbeige · 26/02/2020 16:04

Only if you know you definitely won’t be tempted to go and visit the kids during the time. The hunters will just sit at your house waiting for you to turn up

cultkid · 26/02/2020 16:11

I will meet them in a neutral place

OP posts:
TheHagOnTheHill · 26/02/2020 16:16

I live rurally, can easily get to my house without being seen by CCTV.Would be very good at laying false trails, intact we could all give in unrelated false sightings from anywhere you fancy. We set it up first, you take one phone number of someone you have no connection with who sets the ball rolling am the PM's the next hoaxer etc.

BoudoirPink · 26/02/2020 16:45

Only if you know you definitely won’t be tempted to go and visit the kids during the time. The hunters will just sit at your house waiting for you to turn up

You see, I bet the OP would be required to sneak back and see her children -- it would be scripted in.

Gazelda · 26/02/2020 16:53

You should also make some friends on the Preppers board. They'd give you tips.

And I'm sure the Weather people will post random updates for you if required.

The Crafters could be in charge of the coded bunting and the Baking board could rota a trail of flapjacks.

Just off to clear the Summerhouse of spiders in case of unexpected guests ...

cultkid · 26/02/2020 17:01

@TheHagOnTheHill I love that

Yes I would love you to give them tip offs

Oh I do hope they choose me

Now who's making the flapjacks? 😁

OP posts:
MitziK · 26/02/2020 17:19

And then we have the episode where one of the hunted trips up because they've got hold of the Mumsnet thread...

Beats me why it takes so long to find anybody. Why don't they just ring the cameraman's mobile? Or the drone operator's? because it's scripted throughout

LimitIsUp · 26/02/2020 17:24

I think they film end of May / early June. Wanted to apply with my dd but she is not 18 until July, and in May / June will be sitting her A levels. Hopefully next year!

I hope that you get picked OP

FoxRedBitch · 26/02/2020 17:25

The blue eyed chap is quite dreamy.

Doginahat · 26/02/2020 18:47

Do it! I'm in rural Wales. I can hide you with the chickens. They're v snuggly and warm!

cultkid · 26/02/2020 19:22

@Doginahat and eggs for breakfast 🤭

OP posts:
GemmeFatale · 03/03/2020 10:24

I want to help! Cotswolds here (so no chance of the cctv getting you).

I think the trick would be to flood them with information. You’re forced to give them some so it’s easy to follow. If when you phone your best mate Jill to sort a lift she arranged to meet five different people at various points along a route and they all do the same bomb bursting out from there they wouldn’t have the resources to follow. Then you don’t meet Jill, you get onto the Mumsnet network.

Meggie2008 · 03/03/2020 10:50

South West Scotland if you get that far 😂

WingingItSince1973 · 03/03/2020 13:21

Doh I'm so dumb! Just dawned on me that theres no point in trying to disguise yourself as you have a stand out as sore as your thumb cameraman following you! Still love the show though. Am sure the earlier series didnt have so many rules!
