Just wondering, are you considering or do you already wear a mask when out and about due to the potential pandemic? I’ve seen only 2 people with them, a Chinese guy and an Uber driver, but we live very rurally.

I am travelling for work this week and seriously considering a mask for the crowded bits eg the tube as I have asthma, as does my sister and elderly parents. But my British need to not look a dick head is saying no!

Yes - you are/would/plan to wear a mask
No - are not/no plans/would never wear one

@FenellaMaxwell no I meant for their usual purpose - only as most of them are made in China there is a shortage of supply!! I totally understand that they aren't used in the treatment of coronovirus itself!

I must live and work in a different part of London to everyone else because I get the tube every day too and have probably seen three people in total wearing masks!

I read that the masks are basically useless, I don't know how true that is. I'm not going to wear one until I feel it's appropriate to do so. I'm in Liverpool, if it becomes an issue then I'll look into what steps to take.

So far, I've bought extra hand sanitizer, paracetamols and ibuprofen and typical cold meds, baby medicines and extra disinfectants

I have a 21 week old.

If I start panicking now, I'll over obsess and make myself ill

Live in a small town right near the bottom of Cornwall and last week we did see two men wearing masks in our local Tesco. It was quite jolting in a way. I wondered if there had been an announcement or something that we'd missed. I tend to worry and I was forcing a kind of small town, 'nothing will make its way down here' mindset to put things into perspective. So it did shock me a bit.

Then I read this morning that a surgery in Cornwall had to close for deep cleaning after a suspected case and that pupils returning from a trip had been advised to self quarantine and that's got me thinking again.

We just flew to Sri-Lanka and back via Doha, many many people wearing them, some even had latex gloves on too. Can't help feel they are a waste of time.

I live in London (very centrally but thankfully can do my commute on foot so rarely have to use public transport)

It would be a no from me.

The advise has been to only wear one if you are ill. I am travelling around Vietnam at the moment and in the past two weeks I have been in South Korea and Singapore. Even there only half of people are wearing masks and barely anyone is in Vietnam. Personally I think it's crazy to wear a mask in England but that's just me!!

I've just returned from Thailand lots of Western tourists in masks. The surgical masks will not stop the virus. As mentioned lots of times hand hygiene is vital and not to touch the face.

Today I went into town on two tube lines and back in rush hour, went to the (very busy) Tutankhamun exhibition (he had a mask!) and lunch. I didn't see a single person wearing a mask. I was quite surprised

Well I caved and bought a proper respirator mask from Wickes.

But only for if this thing kicks off a bit more in the U.K. and I need it to venture out and fight for bread...

School near us just isolated a load of kids too so it’s paranoia inducing!
