I feel sorry for the teacher!

Completely.

I’m also surprised the teacher was able to go to Singapore. From reading threads on here they are the most overworked and underpaid people on the planet with absolutely no time off and work through half-term and end of term breaks.

I saw this article on a Facebook Post and the amount of mums commenting "My children would NOT be allowed in school... How selfish of the teacher!" is insane. I think people are truly losing the plot! It's more likely we will contract flu or have a car accident than contract corona virus, and even then it's nowhere near as deadly as the media are making out. I wish people would just educate themselves. They're probably ruining that poor teacher's reputation, just for having a life!

Do not rise to @BritWifeinUSA please people.

AufderAutobahn · 24/02/2020 19:56

Agreed, how ridiculous, as is Brit Wife's comment.

SayNoToCarrots · 24/02/2020 19:58

😂 you are wrong @BritWifeinUSA I'm a teacher and I am only in work half an hour a day on average and I have 48 weeks holiday a year. While I am at work I only drink tea and read out PowerPoints and get the kids to peer mark so I'd have plenty of time to go to Singapore. In fact I go twice weekly and have thus far managed to only catch 12% of a coronavirus, in between whinging about being overworked.
