How do you do it without mangling it?

Putting marmite on toast..

It looks like its gone through a shredder! I'm so annoyed by it!! I toast the bread to optimum toasty ness (nearly burnt but not) Then I put the marmite on. No butter. Do I need butter? And I'm actual french salty butter here not margarine.

By the time I'm done spreading it out it's shredding the toast there's a hole in one bit, no marmite in the corners :( am I not using enough?!

I am sat here in abject horror that you would put marmite on toast without butter! Heathen.

(are you left-handed OP? I tend to shred all of my toast and bread because of this)

Hot toast, quickly buttered so it's lovely and soft and buttery, then quickly spread with scraping of marmite, or bovril if you're in Yorkshire...Yum!

@SidneyPrescott you make me laugh out loud Grin

OP, it all starts innocently enough with butterless toast.

But be warned: this WILL escalate.
You will find yourself omitting grated cheese in tomato soup, or having chillli without a dollop of sour cream, & then who are you going to come crying to?
