To ask for your helping tweeting @LNER

I’m on a crammed train, standing room only and no response to my tweets from @LNER - no guard in sight nor any announcements. Any MNer with a few seconds spare to help with a Twitter storm would be so so appreciated. My twitter account is @SmallstatesQM. Head of LNER Comms is @KateLNER1. Thank you!

Oh it can't be that bad if you can still mumsnet Grin

Better than a Sunday washing uniform lol

But honestly what do you expect Sunday evening after half term

Violetroselily · 23/02/2020 16:35

What exactly are you looking for...?

bigchris · 23/02/2020 16:35

As long as the loos are working I'd not mind

recordbox · 23/02/2020 16:36

Tweeting them only leads to a 'speak to the train manager' response if it's re a specific service. Frustrating as it is, an announcement to tel you reservations are not working wouldn't have been helpful anyway, given you know that already. I travel regularly up and down from Aberdeen to London using LNER and most of the time it's fine, when it goes wrong though it's usually no fault of the staff and very little they can do to fix it.

recordbox · 23/02/2020 16:37

Did you really expect people who are sitting at home or whatever with zero grievance to tweet in your behalf?

DieSchottin93 · 23/02/2020 16:43

What if first class is full as well though? I've just checked their Twitter page and there's loads of tweets they're replying to so I imagine they'll get back to you at some point, in my experience they always do.

jomaIone · 23/02/2020 16:45

First class will be full too. There are less trains on a Sunday, they're always full and crowded. It's not nice. But there is literally nothing the conductor can do. Making an announcement is all well and good. But what does it change?

catcatcatcat · 23/02/2020 16:48

I was on that train sat next to first class - they did move people into there from our carriage (the closest) to free up space. Yes it's a nightmare but what do they do?! They can't make people move out of seats - when we got on at Edinburgh the reservations WERE working. I was on my own with 2 children & it was no fun, but not LNER's fault imo.

Yes trains are shit and lack of communication makes it worse. But not sure what you expect to happen from a bunch of randoms tweeting who aren’t on the train. I’m sure the train company are well aware of the issue. The staff responding to your tweets have no power to do anything other than apologise, and the senior management who do have the power don’t care because fixing things costs money they would rather line their own and shareholders pockets with.
