Nothing in my life cheers me up as much as when I manage to produce things for the kids to do, a snack, the right change for a car park, a spare hair bobble etc, but I also don’t want to carry too much around.

I was on a busy train recently and couldNt get to my rucksack which had snack, drinks, toys to entertain the kids, and managed to cobble together some plain postcards, rainbow pens, mini chocolate buttons, half a small bottle of water and some raisins.

I felt like I was succeeding at life.

I swear by the small handbag in the big bag routine. So small bag contains purse, keys, lip balm, hair bobble (I have very short hair), brace wax (I don't have a brace), AirPods, tissues, reading glasses and a pen. The big bag contains the small bag, laptop, diary, pens, reusable cup and bag, umbrella, spare socks and random snacks.

Purse
Small makeup bag - containing lipstick, eyeliner pencil, concealer and mini foundation. Also cold sore cream, paracetamol, and indigestion tablets.
Notebook
Pens x 2
Hairbrush
Sunglasses - mine are prescription, so I like to always have them because I can’t “just borrow these”
Fabric shopping bag in little pouch
Inhaler
Perfume
Lip balm
It all fits pretty well into a quite small bag which has top handles and also a cross body strap, so is comfortable to carry and doesn’t get in the way.
When I bought my current bag I also bought a felt “handbag liner” which keep the inside of it clean, and has various pockets so I can keep everything tidy and readily to hand - I can also just lift it out and put it into another bag if I fancy a change.
I’m a very disorganised person in general, but I’ve managed to get my handbag life sorted!
