to wonder if your workplace has better benefits than MNHQ offers?

Just from a recent advert for a MNHQ job

"We host team lunches, staff parties and knowledge sessions; we have a book club and a shuffleboard league; and we have our own yoga studio while remaining tolerant of the Lycra-averse. Working for Mumsnet means never having to pretend you don’t have a family (or other commitments) and we promise never to keep you away from the school sports day.

Where we are

We’re based in sunny Kentish Town, where you’re never more than 500 metres away from a sourdough pizza and an elaborately refurbished pub."

Well - certainly sounds like more is available than we have.

We have time off for family comittments so that's good.
Free tea and coffee
And are next door to a great bakery

We don't have a shuffleboard league though!

The reality is that public sector pay is still well ahead of private sector pay across Britain. This is particularly so in the regions: the gulf is largest in Scotland and Wales and smallest in London and the South East. And it is the lowest earners do best out of being in the public sector relative to their private sector counterparts, earning up to a fifth more. It is only in the 90th percentile of earners where you find public sector pay behind that of the private sector.

I think people often forget that the private sector doesn't only comprise of bankers & lawyers on 6 figures plus.

I work in a supermarket. The perks are freakin ace!
From delicious things going on in the dining room, special days out, discounts with other companies, hotels and family holidays, funding for voluntary work and any classes/hobbies we wish to take up.
The only downside is we can't book time off in December. Which doesn't bother anyway

Not actually true, it depends on where we are in an economic cycle if private or public pays better for equivalent skill sets. Once you add in the pension public sector always wins.

My benefits include up to 35 days holidays plus bank holidays, 4 months full pay sick leave or maternity leave, company contribution to pension up to 12%, death in service payment 3x salary, private healthcare, bonus scheme, free parking, various salary sacrifice options. We also get the fluffy stuff: lots of PT working, option to WFH, money off company products, lunchtime yoga, gardening club, running group, walking group, work social events, random free food including chocolate advent calenders (!), free tea and coffee.

No idea. What's the pay like? The pension arrangements? The sick leave, compassionate leave, adoption leave, maternity and paternity leave policies? Do MNHQ recognise unions? How flexi can they be about working hours? What are the development opportunities? What support do they give for cpd?

Team lunches, staff parties, knowledge sessions and book clubs can be lovely things, but I care so much less about that sort of thing than the above.
