I have made a doctors appointment but couldn't get one for 3 weeks!
I have a severe sharp pain in my tailbone and lower back area, it hurts constantly but worsens if a tilt my pelvis either way. I went to a chiropractor before Christmas and they did an X-ray and my pelvis was wonky (think one side higher than other) which he said was likely due to it not going back properly after pregnancy. I had quite bad SPD during second pregnancy but not enough to crutches etc. It stopped apart from mild pain on one side of pelvis post baby but this severe pain started about 6 months ago (2 years post baby). It was more manageable but has become way worse since going to the chiropractor and it's awful, can't bend over, can't pick up ds's/things off floor, pain sitting/laying move, eases up when walking so do that a lot. It causes a sciatic pain down both legs to about knee area.
I'm fit healthy and in shape. Also I don't know if it's related but it's now coming up to third month with no period?! (100% not possible to be pregnant)
Does anyone have any idea what this could be...? Seeing as I have to wait so long for an appointment!
Thank you!

Does the pain get any worse at any point during your cycle?
Anecdotal but I find this post delivery after spd.

If you're having sciatic pain down your leg, it might be a protruding disc which can impinge on the sciatic nerve. Please press your GP for an answer or referral. I went to my GP twice with hideous sciatic pain, was fobbed off and 10 years later can no longer work, or do much of anything, because of the damage caused. Please don't be fobbed off like I was.

I hope your GP can figure out what is causing your pain. Sending best wishes.

Thank for you replies! Yes I did notice in previous cycles it got worse @Bella2020 and it's been quite severe recently so was expecting period to come but it hasn't

What did the chiropractor do? Did they do any manipulation of your spine? I’d be concerned that they may have caused further damage as the pain has been worse since that visit.

Had you seen a doctor prior to seeing the chiropractor?

HairyString · 19/02/2020 16:30

Displaced sacroiliac joint. I've had surgery on mine.

boymum9 · 19/02/2020 18:40

@sleepylittlebunnies yes spine manipulation among other things, it did help a bit with other issues I had but now my back is worse, it wasn't immediately worse but has worsened over the time since I had the course of sessions. No I didn't go to the doctors before, it wasn't bad enough to feel like I needed to but now I'm really quite worried and in so much pain!

@HairyString oh no I'm so sorry! Are you better now? Hope so! What were your symptoms prior to surgery?

Sounds like a bulging disc

sleepylittlebunnies · 19/02/2020 18:58

@boymum9 I was thinking that the chiropractor may have caused a partial dislocation of your lumbar spine which has led to the sciatic pain you’re experiencing. Hopefully it’s something like a simple disc herniation.

Do you have any bladder or bowel disturbances? Or any loss of sensation? Three weeks to be seen by a GP isn’t good enough.

boymum9 · 19/02/2020 19:13

That's what I've been assuming it is @richteasandcheese but no matter how much a google I can't find anything relating that to the coccyx pain too!

OP posts:
boymum9 · 19/02/2020 19:15

@sleepylittlebunnies no no disturbances to those. I did have the sciatic pain before when pregnant and mildly when back started hurting 6 months ago, but it's a lot worse since chiro, so it does worry me, the pain in coccyx area is much much worse since chiroSad

If you have coccyx pain it's unlikely to be sacroiliac. I am still struggling two and a half years post surgery and am looking at getting further surgery later this year.

sleepylittlebunnies · 19/02/2020 21:16

Was the coccyx pain caused by childbirth?

What do you think is up with your periods? Have you ever missed any before? I can’t see any relation between the two issues.
