Or mini break? Last month my cycle was 21 days Hmm but this month it's 30 days and counting... with a mini break coming up I know it will wait until then. Anyone else?

Mine is due but hasn’t arrived. I suspect it’s saving itself for the weekend away I’ve got planned for next weekend.

Laniakea · 20/02/2020 18:08

It's true.

Mine's awol ... last month was 4 days early, now 3 days late. I had an ablation so when it eventually arrives (on my birthday probs) it's not a big deal but, OMG, the horrific PMS is making me dangerous to be around. And the weeping, it's worse than being pregnant.

houseofhungryboys · 20/02/2020 20:39

Feeling your pain ladies, currently on day 39 of cycle, usually regular as clockwork. Just know will appear just as I'm off on hols with DH for first time in 20 odd years without kids 😤

TheNewSchmoo · 20/02/2020 20:55

I always, ALWAYS, come on after a flight. I'm sure it's pressure

BettysHotpot1 · 20/02/2020 21:07

This is why I got a mirena coil at 48, even though I didn't need it as contraception. I went through my calendar one year & realised EVERY single planned trip, day out or event was happening when my 8 day flooding periods were due.

Ooogetyooo · 20/02/2020 21:21

Does noristerone give any side effects? Nausea, headaches etc? Might give this a go next time .,

Cinammoncake · 23/02/2020 16:01

Update: bang on cue it turned up a few hours before I was going away and was (is) heavy painful nightmare period from doom. Yet again wondering when the whole bloody fiasco is going to end, but I remember thinking the same this time last year Confused

Ah that's too bad @cinammoncake. I got the mirena coil fitted 3 weeks ago and have been bleeding ever since. I am hoping it settles down but it's such a drain.

@Ooogetyooo no side effects that feel worse than being on my period constantly. I can't remember having headaches and definitely no nausea. If you are using them to delay your period I think I would still feel a bit crampy whilst on them, like I knew my period would be imminent and they did return as normal as soon as I stopped.

Weenurse · 24/02/2020 07:17

174 days without and, as soon as we landed in Singapore for a weeks break, period arrives.
I have started to expect it every time we go away.

Chemenger · 24/02/2020 07:26

Five minutes before boarding a two hour boat trip in Costa Rica, with all luggage already loaded. Also any time I had the temerity to wear light coloured trousers.

fishonabicycle · 24/02/2020 07:46

My best effort was on a beach, right down a poxy cliff in northern Spain. I had to get all the way up to the car to get a tampon and then sit in the car to apply it.

Shodan · 24/02/2020 07:52

Holidays yes, and especially Special Sexy Times (aka romantic nights away) Hmm

And every time I forget. Months go by with nothing and then BAM!

I'm thinking of writing a stiffly worded letter of complaint to Mother Nature. I'm 51, I think I've done enough now Angry

TweetUsOnFacebook · 24/02/2020 08:16

It's not the actual period that ruins a holiday for me as it's sort of settled into a two day affair every three weeks. It's the side effects. Constant weeing, flatulence and horrific number 2s. We have a two week holiday coming up which I already have 20 days supply (60) Norethisterone put aside, bought from an online chemist. I'm taking no chances of sitting on a sun lounger not knowing when the next bout of diarrhoea will hit Blush

AwkwardSquad · 24/02/2020 08:27

I haven’t had a period for four months. Went away this weekend, to a place with swimming pool, sauna etc, and guess what....

Cinammoncake · 24/02/2020 14:06

So naff isn't it! Here's to all of us with the horrid holiday wrecking periods! Cake soon may they end.
