Rsvp date

Been invited to a wedding in June next year. The RSVP date is the end of this month. AIBU to think that's a bit excessive?

We want to go, we probably can go, but won't be able to confirm until closer to Christmas (child care, it's abroad). Can people really plan child care and stuff 18months ahead of time?

Seems a little excessive to me, but then again I went from engaged to married in 15 weeks 😂

For an abroad wedding I think it's sensible to give invites early..it gives time to sort out the finances & sort where your staying

Notreallyhappy I understand a save the date so far in advance, with brief details, but you can't even book the hotel the wedding is at this far in advance. None of the hotels near by have their prices or availability listed for so far in advance. So we can save, but we have no idea how much we'll need etc!

It's the needing the rsvp so early that I don't understand.

So we've just RSVP'd no. So has by brother and GF, sister and family, mum and dad. Simply because it's so far in advance we can't get an idea of prices etc. I did write on my RSVP that should they have any spaces this time next year to please come back to us as we would love to attend and be more able to commit then
