You get all invested and OMG .and then boom it’s gone.

Yeah yeah other people’s lives etc, but it’s interesting even if it’s a load of old bollocks

Yep, unfortunately a lot of them are. They must be unpublished authors, out of work journalists, frustrated creative writers.

The style of writing is very much like a novel IMO.

I've been hooked/reeled in but the ones detailing seemingly endless abuse either high or low level. Or just plain rudeness and unreasonable behaviour make me wonder...….

One of the indicators of an, 'incredible' thread is the drip feeding and the, 'next chapter.' Because they know they've got you hooked for the time being at least.

The weirdest one for me had a long story about a dog (I won’t go into detail because then it’ll be a taat) but when they posted the obligatory cute dog photo it was from a studding website when the make believe dog was a female.
