Sevever symptoms before termination

I found out 2 weeks ago that I am pregnant. For a multitude of reasons, I don't want another child. I already have two kids, aged 12 and 13. My baby days are over.
So, I am booked in for a termination on Thursday.
Work knows I am booked in for a "day surgery" next week and that I will need the day off, possibly day after also. I haven't told them anything else as obviously I don't want to discuss this with colleagues.

The problem I face at the moment is that I have severe pregnancy symptoms. Nausea, 24 hr sickness, fatigue (I'm talking exhaustion here, I was awake for 5 hrs total yesterday). Would it be unreasonable to call in sick this week, or request to work from home to keep on top of key things, and hope that by next week all will be OK again?
I'm dressed for work, lunch packed etc but honestly, I think I might cry when I get in the car. The idea of sitting in there for 8 hours feeling this way is overwhelming.

If working at home is an option and you feel up to it then I would go for that. ßory you're going through this Flowers

I meant 'sorry'!

You’re sick you poor thing, the reason for it is beside the point. If you’re not well enough to work then you’re not Flowers

Yes I’d take the week off sick. In my work pregnancy related sickness doesn’t count towards sickness warnings. I’d call in sick rather than work from home

Sounds like you could have hyperemesis gravidarum. Could you drag yourself to doctors tomorrow and get a note? Or otherwise say you’re “extremely unwell - symptoms which will be resolved by surgery later in week”. A good manager won’t pry.

Thanks all. I've let them know I won't be in today, but that I will check emails later to keep on top of priority things.

I'll take it a day at a time but don't foresee any miraculous recoveries by tomorrow
