Neighbours got a puppy at Christmas but I think the novelty has well and truly worn off. The walls are very thin and for about a month or so now all I hear is them shouting at it ‘get the fck down’ or ‘fck sake go away’ etc.
Just now I heard the man shout and I mean properly shout ‘for fck sake, he’s pssed in the corner the fcking little cnt...you know where you’re going don’t ya door slams and you can f*cking stay there!’

Right so I know the dog doesn’t understand the swearing but surely the constant shouting at it and angry tones would be distressing? I mean I don’t know the neighbours that well so can only hope it’s at least being fed properly etc but I just feel sad for it really.
Not sure what my AIBU is either just feel sad about it.

@Shannith is right. I reported one of my neighbours to the RSPCA because they leave their dogs tied outside in the hot sun all summer, and shout at them out of the window when they whimper and was told because I could see a bowl within their reach there was fuck all they could do. Heartbreaking Sad

Bettyhatesavocados · 18/02/2020 16:54

JRUIN That is really depressing Sad It makes me so angry. It's not like dogs are compulsory... People don't have to get them. Makes me so upset. I don't envy you or OP having to witness dog abuse, esp when those who are supposed to intervene or help don't Sad

JRUIN · 18/02/2020 17:03

It's horrible @Shannith. I'm actually starting to dread the summer because it causes me so much anxiety to listen to those poor dogs crying Sad

Bubblemonkey · 18/02/2020 17:04

“Get the fuck down” is a regular phrase in our house. Usually because the dickhead is sat on the back of the sofa tryna tongue ya wherever possible. Eyeball/mouth/ear/anywhere 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Bubblemonkey · 18/02/2020 17:06

“Stop trying to shag your sister” is another famous one 🙃

AlCalavicci · 18/02/2020 17:08

It must be horrible to have to listen to that abuse .
I agree with PP that the RSPCA will not be able to do anything at the moment but I would still call them and hopefully they will make a record of your concerns , then if you suspect the abuse is getting worse you can ring them again and say you reported them once already on X date and want them to take action now .

Can you record the shouting as proof should it be needed in future ?

Do you know if there are any dog training centres near you , could you ask them for some leaflets and hand them to / post them your neighbours

OneForMeToo · 18/02/2020 17:39

It’s pointless calling the rspca. As long as it’s fed/watered and got shelter they can’t do shit unless you have actually evidence of them hitting it or such.

Just hope that it annoys them so much they rehome it basically is the only option.

isadoradancing123 · 18/02/2020 17:41

The RSPCA wont do anything unfortunately

Corna · 19/02/2020 22:58

But call them anyway. They definitely won't do anything if you don't call them. Let them make that decision.

I am NOT a dog lover and this has infuriated me. Please call RSPCA OP
