I'm sure there's a famous childrens character who eats jam sandwiches but google is not helping. It's driving me mad. Can anyone help?

DH says I'm thinking Paddington with his marmalade sandwiches but I'm sure there was someone who always had jam?

Perry likes to ask Mrs Patterson for a Jam Sandwich from Kevin and Perry. Not exactly childrens literature though.

Hi, apologies to resurrect this thread, but for some reason today I had the same question.

The answer is the Perishers. There was a boy called Wellington, with a sheepdog called Boot.

Like you, I thought he ate jam sandwiches, but he actually had ketchup sandwiches, his best friend Marlon was the one who ate jam sandwiches.

I kept thinking it was something to do with Peanuts, but only because Maisie is very similar to Lucy.
