Met up with 2 old friends last night. They went to school together i have known them 20 years...we are 40ish.So are clearly closer having kbown each other forever.
They basically conversed among themselves and left me out of the conversation. I tried to join in but tbh gave up and went on my phone. Aibu to feel a bit put put?

That is really rude.

AriadnesFilament · 09/02/2020 15:17

You know they were rude

ImFreeToDoWhatIWant · 09/02/2020 15:18

YANBU that they were rude. But you shouldn't have gone on your phone, why not just leave?

Dozer · 09/02/2020 15:22

They were v rude, but so was going on your phone.

Highonpotandused · 09/02/2020 15:22

Why didn’t you leave, OP? No one can make you feel inferior without your consent! (To quote Ellie Roo)

Highonpotandused · 09/02/2020 15:23

Going on your phone because people are ignoring is not rude, it’s doormatty.

Dozer · 09/02/2020 15:30

Yes it is rude. Except for a quick check of messages.

malificent7 · 09/02/2020 15:38

I didn't leave as dp was driving bk. I was being rude...i know that by going on my phone....my response to being ignired and therefore bored.

Geminijes · 09/02/2020 15:52

Didn't you ask why they were being rude and excluding from you the conversation?

Bringringbring · 09/02/2020 15:53

OP you came off as a sullen teenager

If always like this - then odd that you continue to be invited and that you continue to accept

If a one off, then perhaps it was just one of those evenings, thoughtless Of then, childish of you.

Either way - I doubt they will be particularly bothered whether you join them (on your phone) again.
