"Suits you"
Well I mean, I'd be highly offended if someone said "ohh that doesn't suit you at all, you should never hold a child again".

And yes, I know it's completely trivial but i have the same woman commenting this to me all the time. I am pregnant at the moment but she used to say it before this. Is this another way to say "it suits you, why don't you have a child yet?"

Think I'm grumpy. Any coffee going?

I have never had this comment on social media, because I've never posted a photo of me holding a baby - I have had it more than once in real life when I've been holding someone's child, though, and I found it really uncomfortable and unwelcome.

Perhaps 'OMG you don't suit a baby at all, don't ever have one' would be more acceptable. Confused

Yes this really annoys me too. My MIL says it to me everytime I hold a baby girl "you suit pink". I have 2 boys and I have made it very clear we aren't having any more children!

Perhaps just don't breezily comment on whether you think people should have children or not. It's quite a personal and emotional subject, and you may not be aware of everything going on in their lives related to it.

The more I interact with humans the less I understand them. I’m going back to my planet.

FB is the place for breezy comments.

I know what you mean, I find it a slightly irritating comment because it implies that a baby is an accessory rather than a human being. And it’s always really insipid people who say it.

But it’s not offensive or anything, I can’t get too worked up.

People say this to my bil all the time. He has one son and his wife has had two late miscarriages. They don't mean anything by it he is very good and at family gatherings kids will either follow him or me around.
