To use postcards as wedding invites or is this cheap?

Just that really. Wedding is booked in a really unusual and beautiful venue and I've seen some postcards that have really nice artwork of the venue on them. They are beautiful. Pretty much exactly what I'd want in terms of the print on them.
Can I buy them and hand write invitations on the back?
Would that be a lovely keepsake or just look cheap?

Sounds like a lovely idea, really personal. Everyone knows that wedding invitations cost a fortune so that sounds like a Lovely idea.

TheWeatherGirl1 · 08/02/2020 20:54

We sent postcards, handwritten postcards at that.
Nobody complained

MapMySleighRide · 08/02/2020 20:54

I think its your wedding and you should do it however you like and in a way you can afford. Personally I think it sounds lovely! Will the rsvps be by email then? If so maybe add a phone number or some way for any older guests to rsvp

Obsidian77 · 08/02/2020 20:55

Sounds lovely

Haggisfish · 08/02/2020 20:55

Lovely idea. Although I would contact the maker to see if they will print your details on or print off a sheet you stick on!

RefuseTheLies · 08/02/2020 20:55

Quirky, and a lovely idea!

Marriedtoapenguin · 08/02/2020 20:56

What a bloody good idea!

Chocolategirl79 · 08/02/2020 20:57

We did that but we printed labels for the back with all the details!

Fantababy · 08/02/2020 20:58

Sounds great. Anyone who does judge isn't someone you want at the wedding.

Justmuddlingalong · 08/02/2020 20:58

Sounds a lovely, personal idea. I say go for it.

Antihop · 08/02/2020 20:59

We sent our wedding invitations by email.

1Morewineplease · 08/02/2020 20:59

It sounds like a really lovely personalised idea!
Go for it.
There’s absolutely no need to spend money on pre-printed , soul-less wedding stationery, and handwriting them adds a personal touch!
Do it.

Marmitepasta · 08/02/2020 21:08

In what day is this cheap? What do people normally do for wedding invites??? I wouldn't have thought I'd cost more than apostcard to send an invite card?
Genuine question!

Ninkanink · 08/02/2020 21:09

I think that’s a lovely idea!

StrawberryTot · 08/02/2020 21:09

Do it!! Love the idea, I’m kinda sad I’ve already sent mine out.

OverByYer · 08/02/2020 21:09

Great idea

indianbackground · 08/02/2020 21:13

Great idea as long as you don’t need to include too much detail. How many invitations do you have though - printing maybe?

TheGirlWithAPrince · 08/02/2020 21:17

I would actually like that instead of traditional invites

knightsbridgemum · 08/02/2020 21:17

Great idea! I'm sure people will love the originality.

OhWellThatsJustGreat · 08/02/2020 21:18

That's awesome!!!
Completely unique and quirky!

TheMotherofAllDilemmas · 08/02/2020 21:21

I would much prefer that than a piece of fancy card with no personality and commercially printed standard message.

Bubblysqueak · 08/02/2020 21:24

Great idea, I think I would get printed sticky labels for the bulk of info and then handwrite names etc (because I'm lazy)

KnightandDay · 08/02/2020 21:24

Sounds really lovely and very personal, go for it!
