What can I do to make maternity go quicker?

I'm 29+4 and I'm taking maternity from 30 weeks due to having gestational diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease and bad SPD.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips for what to do on maternity that aren't too expensive (really can't afford spa days etc) that will help my maternity go quicker? I feel like every day is taking a year right now. I'm having a C-Section hopefully around 38/39 weeks so I haven't got TOO long to go but I am very bored.

So far I have done the nursery, packed most of my hospital bag, finished his clothes shopping, bought almost everything I need to except a few little bits which I'm going to wait until I get paid to get, started stocking up on nappies etc.

I'm 30,000 into the edits of my book but I'm going to be finished with that within the next two weeks, and even that I'm having to do in sections because my concentration is rubbish!

Any other ideas to stop me going insane?

Also sorry for posting here, the pregnancy boards are pretty quiet!

Research any free/cheap cultural events near you. Very often there are daytime talks/concerts etc in churches and so on aimed at older people that don't cost a lot of money. You won't be able to go to these with a baby or even a young child, because once the baby is here and you have to pay for childcare for every daylight hour you're not with them those daylight hours without your child will be reserved for working. Plus older women tend to make a fuss of pregnant women so it will be good to have people being specifically nice to you.

Sleeping. I did a lot of that. I also had SPD and took a long mat leave before the baby came.
Sleeping is lovely as you will have less of it after the baby is both.
I was given some awesome advice for my mat leave : this is the last time in your life that you will not be responsible for anyone else. So enjoy it and do things you like.
Difficult with SPd but little walks, watch TV programmed you enjoy, cook?
Also I found some Osteopath sessions really helped with the SPD. The physio did nothing for me.

I've just recently taught myself to crochet. Made some lovely things for my new baby in May (i'm 25 weeks pregnant with DC2) and it makes time fly by! Very cheap too!

@Babyg1995 I had these ideas about how I was going to write a novel, but in the end, sitting on my arse doing exactly as I pleased won out Grin.
