To not want to go to all this hassle to save £5?

I want to make a purchase possibly today, something for one of the dc and it's around £100.

The shop we are buying from I get a discount of 10%. Dhs brother can also get a different 5% discount, these discounts are through our employers and can be used together.

Dhs brother lives a 40 minute drive away, dh has suggested that we buy the item from the store nearest his brothers house, meet his brother there to get the additional 5% off.

I think that this is far more hassle than it's worth. We weren't planning on visiting the brother today so would have to drive 40 minutes out of our way, arrange and wait for a time that's convenient for his dbro, which may even mean delaying the purchase until another day.

Aibu to think this is more hassle than it's worth?

I have a friend who does bizarre things like this. She isn't the sharpest tool in the box.

Ridiculous!

It's not even £5 - these discounts "stack" so your 10% off will make the item £90, his 5% off is £4.50...

Not worth it for £5. Worth it if you all want and have time for a get-together.

Actually, not worth it at all! But would be a minor bonus if you all wanted a visit.
