AIBU to think that Gs should understand what can be brought over the counter

This week my husband was advised to buy a certain medication over the counter. It was recommended it for treatment of nausea/vomiting caused by vertigo and it is licenced for migraine. So that means that it can be brought over the counter for migraine but to be used for anything else the G.P would have to prescribe it as the pharmacist cannot take the risk/accept the liability.
I do understand this, shouldn't G.Ps as well? (also I fully support buying over the counter meds)

Does it matter? Just say you are buying it for migraine.

I think they are a bit busy.

I’m forever buying feminax ultra... not for period pain 😈 I had naproxen 500mgs on prescription though.

yanbu the GP shouldn't have advised this if the medication isn't licensed for that purpose. a pharmacist isn't just a glorified shopkeeper it's a role with a lot of training and qualification and professional standards and the GP should respect that and not put a pharmacist into that position.

I did lie eventually and got what I needed but I seems wrong to me.
