Looking to book a break for me,DH and two children (7 and 5) over/during this years Oct break. We are already doing a Parkdean holiday in June so not wanting to repeat that. Everywhere I’m looking is either freezing in Oct or £2,000+!!
Please tell me where all you clever people are holidaying this Oct? Happy to stay in the UK or go further I just need ideas!

We went for Nerja near Malaga for 4 nights year before last. Cut the nights mainly to get cheaper flights (expensive regional airport). Got a beautiful apartment with pool near a beach. Cost us about £1,000 for 4 people. We were lucky with the weather and the kids swam in the med for the first time.

Flights to Portugal are really cheap in October. I can get a holiday for a week for 4 for around 700 pounds. Weather low 20s.

Portugal can be nice in October

I went to Morocco that time of year a couple of years ago. Was mid 20s and very affordable

Cyprus, Turkey or Malta?

MrsWobble3 · 04/02/2020 23:03

We went to Morocco last October. Not sure if it would suit children but we liked it.

SylviaC · 04/02/2020 23:04

Luckily with global warming it will soon not be freezing in UK in October.

latheritup · 04/02/2020 23:04

We did Egypt in October. It was beautiful!

We went to Spain for our honeymoon around that time. It was 8 years ago now, but flight was probably £60 and a 3 bed holiday let with private pool was about £300-400 for the week. It was actually really hot the whole time we were there.

Mistletoeandgrime · 04/02/2020 23:06

We've done a week in Mexico for 4 of us for just over 2k, we just happened to spot an amazing deal and booked it as soon as we saw it, about 2 or 3 weeks before we went.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 04/02/2020 23:07

We went to Cyprus last November. It was 24-28 degrees.

yogo · 04/02/2020 23:09

October is a great time to visit the US. Weather's still great (in most places) and the schools are back in session so 'tourist season' is over in most places so crowds are low.
