subtle ways to say "fuck you"

strictlymomdancing · 04/02/2020 09:04

I just got an email from someone I'm having a bit of a disagreement with (won't go into details, but work related) and it is signed 'take care'.

And it just makes me think she's telling me to fuck off.

What do other MNetters think?

It just got me thinking, what other ways are there to say "fuck you" in a subtle way?

My sister lives in the states and its common over there to say "bless your heart"

And we know Mrs Brown - "that's nice".

Anything else?

I have fond memories of the day that my sociopathic boss was leaving for the day and would br back after the bank holiday weekend.I said See you next Tuesday! She knew what it meant,I knew what it meant but I was only stating a fact of course

Tuesday is my first working day of the week. I say this every Friday to my colleague who is horrible to everyone she meets. It pleases me every time Grin

Redwinestillfine · 04/02/2020 10:57

I always sign off 'Regards' I'm not being passive aggressive at all

AnneKipanki · 04/02/2020 10:59

I once wrote an email after a stay in a place saying "Thank you for a memorable stay "

It was memorable for all the wrong reasons. We had stayed many times over the years but we will not stay there again after the 'memorable' one.

UYScuti · 04/02/2020 10:59

I like 'thank you for sharing your opinion'
(now I'm really interested in this mandarin speak stuff)

OrwenOrdduOrgoch · 04/02/2020 11:10

Nevertheless is mine. If I use it I mean “you arrogant ignorant wanker”

BrimfulofSasha · 04/02/2020 11:12

"Please see my previous email attached"

Definitely Regards rather than kind regards.

strictlymomdancing · 04/02/2020 11:15

I KNEW IT!

My cunty manager uses "try not to worry". "kind regards" and "have a restful weekend" all the time.

Some really good ones on here

Hilariously my mil ends communication with “regards”. That is corporate for fuck off Grin. To be fair she is German and doesn’t realise

Cakeweek · 04/02/2020 11:27

I use 'Many thanks' as my default email sign off, it changes to 'Kind regards' if you're annoying me. 'Regards' means you've pissed me right off.

'As per my previous message of...' I already explained this you moron

'Ive reattached my original email just in case it didn't get to you' READ IT!

'Im so sorry, I must not have explained this well' My 5 year old would understand me you utter, utter moron.

morrisseysquif · 04/02/2020 11:27

I had no idea of some of these, I always say 'kind regards'.

For some reason 'You're more than welcome' means the opposite, you are an afterthought and nobody cares if you turn up or not.

Shodan · 04/02/2020 11:28

In response to snotty emails that are demanding I do XYZ immediately - 'Thank you for your email, the contents of which have been noted' means 'Fuck off wanker, I have no intention of bowing to your demands'.

AnneKipanki · 04/02/2020 11:28

Although , I did hear of one junior member of my husband's team did get into trouble by writing 'fuck off' in an email . A senior person told her ' just tell him to fuck off ! ' .

strictlymomdancing · 04/02/2020 11:29

oh and I had a colleague quit once and she sent a company wide email that said something like sorry she couldn't say goodbye properly but she had been stuck under a bus.

I wish I'd kept a copy. It was f*cking genius.

Oh yes! And for a few years after a left abusive ex I still exchanged birthday and Christmas cards with 'our' friends. I wrote "i hope the new year brings you and those you love all the happiness you deserve' more than once.

😂

Bananabixfloof · 04/02/2020 11:34

Write Fuck You at the bottom and change the colour to white then you've said it but they don't realise
Ah see dont do this, if the email is forwarded on to anyone the whole text shows. It doesn't keep the white formatting when sending on.

LakieLady · 04/02/2020 11:41

Pmsl!

Straycatstrut · 04/02/2020 11:41

Just a straight "Regards"

Then "Kindest regards"

Then "Warmest regards"

Then "Have a wonderful day"

So passive aggressive and would wind them right up, I love it Grin

ALHanes2 · 04/02/2020 11:53

Always sign off “kind regards”. Who knew all these years I’ve been telling people to f*ck off, was wondering where I was going wrong. Grin

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 04/02/2020 12:00

During a conversation, someone I know always used to say 'Really - how TERRIBLY interesting!'. Lovely put down!

MsTSwift · 04/02/2020 12:08

I always use “baffled” if I am really peeved. Did yesterday actually on receiving hoity toity email from school threatening dd with punishment for not attending an activity she left a year ago despite me telling them at the time and her being a swotty diligent student who does another activity that I informed them of Hmm

michaelbaubles · 04/02/2020 12:16

When the DC are "entertaining" me with some sort of interminable dance or show I like to use the "you've delighted me long enough" line.

TheLongDarkBreakfastTime · 04/02/2020 12:18

@HexagonsHecateAndHecuba That’s brilliant! I know a few Bobs...

CameFromAway · 04/02/2020 12:20

Geez, I use Take Care all the while and thought nothing of it. Apparently I've been telling people to piss off all along.
