Prob not in right section but..
I have terrible varicose veins.
I’ll attach a pic but they are worse in person.
Vein surgery here in New Zealand is about $10k without insurance. Could try pushing my doctor to go public system but could take years.
Anybody else suffer from veins have any tips or just bite the bullet and pay the money.
They cause me pain achy legs and look horrid. People stare etc

I feel your pain I have similar varicose veins. I go through phases of ignoring them and accepting that I have to cover them up (helped by my Dr sister reminding me I should be grateful I have legs). To looking for clinics to treat them privately as the NHS aren’t keen on doing these ops anymore for cost reasons. I suppose I’m lucky I live in Scotland so getting my minging legs out is not a regular thing. Sorry I can’t be more help!

I got mine done a few years ago and it was one of the best decisions I have made, it is brilliant now, as the consultant said 'most people say they just don't notice their legs anymore' It is as if they never existed. I had them layered under general anaesthetic. I'm so glad.

I had laser removal of a varicose vein when it was still available on the NHS,

It's amazing to be free of the dull nagging pain in my leg.

Day surgery, done under local anaesthetic, lots of bruising after, but really fast recovery

In the UK I would recommend Benenden health it is a set charge of about a tenner a month and after 6 months you qualify for treatment, they were excellent.

So a 4K op cost me about £60 due to the insurance. I kept it though for the future,

If you have the money why wouldn't you pay? (although make sure you've finished having children). The surgery is relatively straightforward as is the recovery and they'll be gone!
