To wonder at what point people can be considered addicted to exercise ?

I think I used to be. I would run to the gym, work out and then run back, and i'd feel guilty if I had a day off. I also started to get very addicted to running and to chasing PBs (personal bests).
Now, I just make sure I walk my 10,000 steps per day, and I do either a run, dance or gym 3 times a week, 4 in summer/if i'm not working.

I have a friend who exercises 7 days a week and does 3 exercises classes in a row, one after the other. Another who will do a 5k run then straight to the gym for a 2-hour workout.
I no longer have a 6 pack but I think I have a healthy and balanced approach to exercise. I think doing several workouts in a day is extreme, but that's just my opinion.
Has anyone else ever considered themselves addicted ?

I exercise kit days to help my mental health mainly. I have not been out today even for a walk and feeling very physically wound up because of it. It does help me relax.

There is a woman at my gym whom I see in most classes I attend (I go about 4 times a week), even though I switch between morning and evening classes from one week to another sometimes. She arrives to the gym having run there (and probably runs back also). I think she has some eating issues because at some point she was extremely skinny, and now she has gone a little bit the other way despite of all the exercise. I also overheard her talking to an instructor about an injury she had, and they advised her to rest for a few days, to which she replied that 'she couldn't do that'. I would say that is excessive.

Maybe she injured herself due to overexercising! Yes I agree fi you can't stop even due to injury that's pretty unhealthy

@TitsalinaBumSquash that is honestly really sad :( I agree it's addiction if you are punishing yourself for missing one session, or constantly prioritising it over anything else.
A few years back I invited a friend for dinner, and she said sorry I can't, i'm going to the gym. I was surprised she couldn't miss one single session, and thought it was a little rude.
I am a teacher and I wish I had a little more energy but sadly I don't. I also hate running in the cold so i'm only managing 5k week atm roughly, which is rubbish I know !

I have 2 runners on my Facebook who have injuries (through overdoing it) and who have to miss a couple of days' running as a result. Writing that they are 'gutted'.
