To think I'm the worst cook in the world?

First time making a lasagna.
I followed all the instructions and it tasted awful.
I think I know where I went wrong.
I cooked them (it was 20% fat beef ) and I didn't drain the fat out of it before I added the tomato to the pan.
So my sauce just tasted of mince grease.
Is this why it went wrong?

Cook the mince in the oven first - recommended by Tom Kerridge and it makes a real difference.

The OP must be somewhat confused by now...

Seriously, just follow Delia. She knows what she's doing Smile

I'm trying his beef ragu recipe next week. It looks gorgeous.

Don’t drain off the fat, use dirt cheap gravy granules to mix it into the sauce, way more flavour

@iklboo I do it for any dish I prepare using mince now. Lovely crusty bits. Enjoy your ragu.

You're definitely not the worst cook in the world. I've fucked up Cheese on Toast (only toasted it on one side). Until you reach those lofty heights, you can't claim the crown I'm afraid. Crown Grin
