to think NOTHING gets rid of a bastard coldsore once it's decided to be a bastard?

Tried everything over the years - Blisteze, earwax, zovirax, toothpaste, baking soda, peroxide...once the blisters appear, nothing seems to make a blind bit of difference.

I have a particularly hideous fat angry cauliflower on my upper lip right now. Does anyone have any magic remedies I haven't tried yet, before it turns into a disgusting slimy bran flake?

Vaseline, lots of it. Cuts the time it stays in half for me.

Another one for aciliovor tablets from the gp.

Also tea tree oil on a bit of cotton wool will dry them out if you have a blister. I do that then use a compeed patch

Toothpaste does work but it has to be Macleans. When it dries it has a plastic coating. I only put it on at night(and doesnt taste nasty if it gets in your mouth) then I clean the sore with water and put a compeed on.

I currently have 3 in the corner of my mouth. Hate them.
