I'm sick of every penny my DS gets being spent like this. Then last week when we gave him some spends for some great work he did, immediately spent the cash on more online coins/ points.
This is lighthearted really as I know I can set s limit or say only buy once a month etc. I can control it. But is it mean? Do you let your DC spend their money on what they want?
Also what's the thirds method of saving I saw on another thread?
Many questions. It's hard work this parenting lark. I want him to benefit from money I never had growing up but teach the value of it too

I know what you mean and my son is the same. I let him spend £20 once a month on Fifa points (or used to be v bucks) and that’s it. I try to think of it as his ‘hobby’ although it feels like a massive waste of money to me.
Any birthday money or money from grandparents isn’t allowed to be spent on this, I make him stick to the £20 limit.

There's often a gambling aspect to these things. For example in FIFA you pay points for a "pack" and it's luck which player you get. He could buy 20, 50, 100 packs and not get the player he wants. In that light YANBU to monitor it.

Mine are banned because so many games have gambling elements in them.
