Coronavirus and the tube

Coming to London with baby DS (3 weeks) this weekend for a wedding. Have to take tube from hotel in central to church in N.London. AIBU to be a bit worried about Coronavirus. Partner says I’m being overly anxious. I probably am but want to check!

Take an Uber. You can’t be blamed for being cautious. Risk is low but it’s there and we can’t know yet if it’s in the UK or not

You’re being ridiculous about the Corina virus, but I wouldn’t bring a newborn on the tube. It’s quite amazingly manky.

You’re being very OTT. You’re coming out of London on a Saturday as well, the tubes will be fairly quiet. Going to N. London so I’m assuming Victoria line? I find it one of the best, it’s bright and feels cleaner than e.g. bakerloo line.
But if you’re that worried get an Uber.

I stopped worrying about all kind of germs on tube or train years ago.

But, a baby on the tube is a nightmare unless are you have stations on both ends with lifts and still carry your baby in a sling. It is hot, uncomfortable and just a nightmare.

We took the tube with DD when she was 4 weeks to go to the embassy, after one leg with her in a sling we only took buses or walked. It is

Where are you staying and where is the church? You could always try the mainline if you absolutely have to go by train. It'll be less crowded and more air circulates.

If not, I would follow previous advice and get a cab/ uber, or the bus. It'll be a much more pleasant experience.

I'm a Londoner and unlike others did take both my kids on the tube when they were very small babies (in the sling). I don't think you are any more likely to catch a virus there than anywhere else. In fact it never even occurred to me at the time. I would have thought it far more likely to catch something in a shop, doctors waiting room etc.
