It's on the side of a box of a4 paper at work.
Why? Why does it need to sit next to the printer? To make friends? To warm up?

Is it to do with acclimatisation?

QueefLatifah · 26/01/2020 21:35

It’s so they get accustomed to one another. Otherwise the printer will refuse completely to accept the paper into its inner circle.
You don’t want to be there when that shit goes down.

Strugglingtoquit · 26/01/2020 21:36

I firmly believe it’s so they can make friends

chatnicknameyousuggested · 26/01/2020 21:37

Not in the UK, and never seen this, but where I live there is a diagram of a little hand flapping the paper to aereate it before putting it in the machine.

smemorata · 26/01/2020 21:37

Boringly, it's to warm up. The paper should be room temperature. If it's been stored somewhere cold (such as a warehouse or cellar,) it's more likely to wrinkle or jam in the printer.

dumbledoresAhhhmy · 26/01/2020 21:38

@QueefLatifah yeah well that's probably why the copier is always jamming up - I've been ignoring the papers requests haven't I?

OP posts:
QueefLatifah · 26/01/2020 22:06

Absolutely. It doesn’t ask much of you?

DecemberSnow · 26/01/2020 22:08

Its so the paper is at room temperature

PanicAndRun · 26/01/2020 22:09

Wait... you insert the paper INTO the machine WITHOUT even an introduction?

No wonder it gets jammed.

Oysterbabe · 26/01/2020 22:10

The paper shouldn't just jump straight inside of the copier before they've even had chance to say hello.

BruceAndNosh · 26/01/2020 22:13

They have to get acquainted.
Paper can't use Tinder, it's too flammable

Moreisnnogedag · 26/01/2020 22:13

Seriously?! I’m feeling pretty dim here, but does cold paper really make the printer jam?

Khione · 26/01/2020 22:18

Whilst it doesn't need storing next to the printer it does need storing in similar temperature and humidity. Physically storing next to printer ensures these condition are met without complicated instructions

Doggodogington · 26/01/2020 22:23

I thing the second picture means “store paper under table when it’s raining inside”
I mean, the printer will be fucked but at least the paper is dry.

DDiva · 26/01/2020 22:29

It's to warm it to room temperature. Our office is very cold (an old building) you can see steam coming from paper when we print on a cold morning.....
