What's the best clinic in UK & Europe for 40+ to conceive?

Hi!

I have been through ART with Bristol Center for Reproductive Medicine. I had 8 folicules (5 looking very good), only 4 eggs, then only 1 became a healthy 3 day embryo. I understand that I am old. But somehow, I am not very happy with this outcome.

Although I am still waiting to hear from the lab regarding this one egg, I have little hope. And I am planing to move on, as I do not have time on my side.

My question to you is what IVF clinic would you recommend, including clinics in Europe. Moreover, I'd like to ask what is your opinion of using donor eggs.

Many thanks

Ana

Just a little word of warning about ARGC. SIL used them at the same time we used Eugin in Barcelona. ARGC cherry pick who they will take on, Eugin don't yet have the same success rates.
They said SIL needed this drug and that test, costs mounting. Theirs cost them £25K. They found it so stressful and it nearly broke them. They said the facilities weren't that great and it had an old fashioned air about it.
Our was €5K and a much better experience all round, top notch facilities, so much so that for their second try they went with Eugin.

And definitely go on fertility friends. The forums are so helpful and you will meet friends for life.

@SomethingNewToRideOn
Re the Eugin clinic in Barcelona, how do you think they compare in comparison with other Spanish clinics? I contacted IVF Spain, and I am not sure I liked their approach (very commercial, also very expensive).
Many thanks
Ana

@AnaBeleza76 I'm not sure tbh. We were living in Barcelona at the time so the clinic was just a couple of metro stops away, and the results were so good and we liked how they were so we didn't look at any others.
All the staff we met at Eugin from receptionists to the doctors were lovely.
Everyone was soon the ball. We really felt taken care of. The clinic was very modern and everything seemed really good.
Any time we had a question we would just call and if there was no doctor instantly available they would call us back within an hour.
I highly recommend them.

My friend used IVI in Alicante and I know they were very happy with their choice. They live in the UK so travelled for each appointment.

We had a good experience with Care Sheffield. Travelled 130 mile round trip every time I needed to go to avoid Hull which was 15 minutes away. DS is nearly 6 months and we used donor eggs. I am 43 soon

@WantToBeMum

Hi!

So, I did some research. I have friends in Barcelona who recommended Gravida (gravidabcn.com/en/pacientes-internacionales/). They were actually quite responsive, and said they would gladly offer Tandem IVF. I've booked a video call with them.

They also said some friends used Eugin Clinic. But the reviews are quite mixed. I saw some nasty comments...

I've also contacted Fertty in Barcelona, and also quite responsive! Also booked a video call with them.

Re ARGC in London, I am going for a F2F appointment next week, to have a second opinion regarding my chances to conceive with my own eggs.

IVF-Spain sent me a standard email with a very complicated set of IVF packs, which looked way too commercial to me!

I'll keep you posted!

Thank you all for sharing information or the experience you've had with clinics.
@AnaBeleza76, I’m looking for a suitable clinic as well and wondered if you found one in the end?
