...to ask if anyone has had a PET scan and it has not been cancer?

I am wondering if a referral for PET scan is bad news and that it means they think cancer is present and need to stage it?
Or can it just be used for diagnosis, and the results can be good news too?

My mum just had ct and pet scans for lung nodules. Wasn't cancer but a TB type infection. Good luck OP.

Thank you, @FlashingFedora.
Every story like this gives me a little bit of hope - I know I am panicking prematurely as we have no diagnosis, but I find this sort of situation very difficult. Dh just says "wait and see" but I don't seem to have that in me!

I just wanted to say thank you again to all who posted on this thread and on my other one.

Thankfully, we found out today that the signs from the PET scan are largely good. Nothing elsewhere and very minimal uptake only, not enough to warrant biopsy. Just a follow-up in 3 months. So I can breathe again...for now!

I really appreciate everyone taking the time to share their stories - thank you so much!
