To sell tickets I got for 10p for considerably more?

Managed to get train tickets in the 10p sale for a seaside town.
Full value is £75.
I paid 80p.

I could never afford full price train fare so thought it would be nice day out for kids.
Tickets are set trains.

Just been reminded by family member that we have a birthday party that day. Completely forgot :(

Would I be unreasonable to sell them for half RRP?

So £37.50

That way I get half the real RRP so I can save another 37.50 and rebook at full price another day and someone else still gets half price tickets.

Tbh, unless it's a really important party, I'd use the tickets yourself as planned. It sounds like it is a great that is generally unaffordable for you in normal circumstances and parties are relatively common place events. If it was my party I'd want you to treat your kid instead.

Unless it's a 90th or something.

Can't you just cancel them so the website puts them back up for sale? Not sure how it works.

SunshineAngel · 25/01/2020 12:56

If you're offering a price, and someone is willing to pay that price, it's fine.

My partner and I own a business, and it is completely sound business sense to buy for as little as you can, and make your profit margins as large as possible.

The person you sell to will still be getting a bargain if they would otherwise have had to go and pay double.

Marellaspirit · 25/01/2020 13:12

We had some of these last week... They actually said 10p on them in the place where the price goes. I'd be miffed to know I'd paid over the odds for something that cost you 10p.

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 25/01/2020 13:27

Not unreasonable!

I’m shit at being organised enough to by in these kinds of sales. Would have no problem buying them at a markup from someone who is good at it!

Frazzled2207 · 25/01/2020 13:43

Fb won't let you sell them don't think. eBay def won't. I'd just offer them to a friend tbh.

karencantobe · 25/01/2020 13:49

Do people buy train tickets from people they don't know? A genuine question, as I would not.

SevenStones · 25/01/2020 13:49

I think 10p is about the right price for a Northern Rail ticket OP!
