Pinprick rash on 15 month old

Noticed when I got him out of the bath this evening.
It fades under pressure. He’s been fine in himself, eating and drinking lots today. He’s been at nursery, had a good day and since he’s been home he’s been playing and looking at books. Ate all of his dinner and he doesn’t have a temperature.

Do I need to be worried? Rash is on his abdomen and back.
He’s getting over a lingering cough and cold and he’s teething.

My little one often gets a rash with a viral infection. If there’s no temperature, and eating and drinking fine I wouldn’t worry too much. Normal number of wet nappies?

SpongeCake23 · 24/01/2020 20:18

@nauseousnancy yes wet nappies. They didn’t mention him being dry at nursery.

So long as it is fading under pressure I wouldn’t worry too much. I’ve always used the glass test before and found it a bit tricky to gauge - we were at hospital and they showed us to just pull the skin apart with your thumbs. Found it much easier!

SpongeCake23 · 24/01/2020 20:31

@NauseousNancy thats exactly what we did! We never really use a glass.

I would think it’s probably a viral rash. But, I generally go by the better to be safe than sorry when it comes to kids. Wouldn’t do any harm to get some professional advice if you are worried :)

SpongeCake23 · 24/01/2020 20:42

@NauseousNancy Thanks. I’ll see how he is in the morning.
I’m not too worried as he’s eating, drinking and doesn’t have a temp. He’s asleep in his cot now. I’ll keep an eye on him throughout the night and then tomorrow too. Will see if any changes.

Has he had anything different to eat or drink?

My DDs milk allergy started like this and Drs said for 6 months that is was viral (winter) then they said for the next 6 months (summer) that it was heat rash.

Definately rule out a virus first by the way, and get medical advice, but its just an idea in case it is diet.

SpongeCake23 · 24/01/2020 20:50

@NoMilk Not that I know of. Unless they gave him something different at nursery , which would be unusual as he’s had most things already, including peanut butter.
