Transparent people - ghosts

Name changed for this, hope it worked! 😅

I’ve been reading a thread on ghosts with interest and it got me thinking.
I was diagnosed with cancer last year, and although I’m still here and I should be here for a while longer, the whole ordeal has got me thinking. I thought there was life after death, maybe reincarnation? But after the cancer diagnosis and the utter utter feeling of despair and loneliness and COLD, like death cold, I was so freaked out that all my beliefs went out of the window.
However the thread on ghosts I was reading a couple of days ago talks about transparent beings (or something like that): people/entities you see that are not actually there, and it did happen to me twice. The first time my child was in hospital, death or life situation, and when I got back into his room after making a phone call outside I saw my grandma sitting on a chair next to his bed. My grandma died a long time ago, but she was there. So I knew that his situation was really serious but also that there was someone looking after him, someone who had loved me so much.
The second time I was going down the stairs in a building, and there was this really angry and evil creature with a human body but a distorted face looking up at me, and I think he? realised that I was looking at him.

Has it even happened to you?
I guess I’m trying to ‘understand’ where I stand on the subject of whether this is the only life I’m given, ever.

When I was growing up I had a friend whose house scared the hell out of me. I never saw anything but it just felt wrong. Her younger sister did tell me stories of two distinct ghosts, one man a shadow no detail who would often stand by their bunk bed and she didn’t like him as he sometimes pinched her leg. The other was a little girl, mischievous and playful (liked jamming the bathroom door a lot). They probably didn’t help with my gut feeling of the house as a kid.

When we were in our late teens I stayed over a lot as we’d go out drinking together - I’d forgotten most of the ghost stories but the house still freaked me out, but they’d made up an attic room and that room never felt odd. I got up one night to go to the toilet and the door jammed for a solid few minutes, I was half drunk and sleepy (and it was summer and the door never fit well and the heat had probably expanded the wood!) but I have not been back to that house since 😂

@CelebrityDave
This happened April spring time. I slept/lived/studied in that room until end of term July.
I did keep a lamp on and I always after this felt I needed to keep the window open as whether real or imagined there seemed to be a 'heaviness' in my room.
I told two of my flatmates. They seemed to come to the conclusion it must have been a cat ( it wasn't!!!) or a dream ( it wasn't!!) But neither would socialise with me in my room anymore and I didn't press discussing it with them further as I didn't want them to think I was strange.
I was a party girl and drank- but never drugs. When this experience happened I was on a period of work experience and hadn't had a drink for a good two weeks prior.

I don't really believe in ghosts but a few odd occurances have happened in one part of the house I have lived in for the past 16 years.

The kitchen, dining room and living room are all open plan and in the area where the dining room meets the living room I have fallen over three times. I am steady on my feet and never ever fall over usually. But these falls were really quite shocking - not stumbles, no chance to put my hands out, literally my whole body just went from being upright to being flat on the floor. It was as if someone or something had wacked my legs out from underneath me.

Each time I was left utterly shocked about what had happened and the last one left me with a massive bruise on my thigh. And each one happened in the same place.

Also, just recently our dog has taken to anxious barking at the same time each evening in this same spot that I fell over (or was pushed?). She looks up at the wall and barks continually - more of a yelping - whilst looking back at us as if imploring us to do something.

As I say I'm not a believer in ghosts but this has left me (and my equally sceptical partner) baffled.
Oh and we have inspected the floor around the area I fell over and there's nothing to cause the sorts of falls I had.

We used to live in an old cottage with land which often got broken into. I remember my mum coming in my room at 2am saying push something against the door there’s someone here. I was used to it. Mum went out with a baseball bat and couldn’t find anything. I slept in her bed! Next morning we got told my grandpa had died In his sleep. We definitely believe it was him saying his final goodbye. I don’t really mind if people think we’re batshit though :)

In our old house there was a horrible feeling on the stairs that both me and my husband felt.
After our daughter was born she would sit in her cot laughing but didn't think anything of it. But when she was about 18 months old she wouldn't let us shut her bedroom door as if we did her friend couldn't come in.
Then our second daughter was born and the feeling on the stairs left and my daughter said she was sad her friend had gone
She doesn't remember it now but it made me think there must be something after we die

Fartnite very funny Grin but no, live people don’t vanish into thin air they were definitely ghosts and one of them was a dog anyway Grin

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 28/01/2020 00:14

I've caught sight of transparent people before but they disappear before I can really be convinced I'm seeing them so I can't really get a long look at them. Sometimes the transparent people's clothing looks old fashioned. I've seen them all my life.

I once felt very scared by one of them but I was half asleep when it happened so have rationalised it away. They were someone I knew that had died that evening and I had yet to be told about it (they were in a bad situation and I was concerned for them). They were very angry with me and had a distorted face. None of the others seemed to be aware of my presence or interacted with me in any way.

I've seen a transparent woman in the bathroom twice this last 2 weeks. I am having problems sleeping at the moment which may be a factor - in fact I've struggled periodically with getting to sleep since as far back as I can remember.

My mum has seen me as a transparent person. I was dealing with a traumatic situation and she saw a transparent me at her house at the same time with no knowledge of what had happened to me.

I've read about astral projection. I've had times when I've felt I was floating in the air or flying very fast along roads in places I know. I'm not sure if I was asleep and dreaming or just imagining it in my head. I wonder if ghosts are people astral projecting.

I dont know if this helps - but I have out of body experiences. I have felt what I can only describe as my soul or consciousness rise from my body and I can go through walls/windows. This isn't all there is. We are spirits having a human experience. 💐💐

I used to work in a 13th century pub, every night I used to see this figure out the corner of my eye as I was locking up and he was there whenever there was trouble, always standing like he was a guard, always in the same spot. DH very adamantly does not believe in ghosts and takes the mickey out of ghost stories, it was very early in our relationship so I hadn't mentioned my guard ghost yet one night he was being an absolute dick while I was locking up and I went to clean the beer garden in a bit of a huff and when I got back DH was white as a sheet because a slightly see through man was stood in the same spot glaring at him. Guard ghost was spotted a few times while I was pregnant too, although interestingly not by the "psychic" the landlord got in who made up loads of cool stories but missed all the spots that all of the barmaids over the years have felt were spooky/had seen things in.

NeckPainChairSearch · 28/01/2020 01:33

Never seen one, but one spoke into my ear, just once, years and years ago. In terms of drama, it was nothing - but that one sound, right in my ear, in a deserted room, for a few seconds, upended every single thing I thought was solid in a moment.

NeckPainChairSearch · 28/01/2020 01:34

OP, I posted too soon - I wish you well. I hope you stay strong and healthy for a long time.

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 28/01/2020 02:20

In regards to reincarnation - When I've had my astral projection 'dreams' I'm not always myself in them although It's still me but in different bodies. I got confused when I was really young about things I could do and things that happened. I have been told it's just my imagination. I am mostly adrift in my dreams and there is nothing surrounding me. I feel safe when I'm floating and exhilarated when I'm whizzing along.

This hasn't happened for years and stopped in my late twenties. I stopped being different people first then I stopped having the dreams.

I work In a nursing home and often when someone is close to death the staff see a man dressed in black with a bowler hat on but no face. I've seen this and a lot of stuff have over the years. He's either walking past the room or in the dying persons room

jobbymcginty · 28/01/2020 03:11

Also my mum died 2 years ago with a very short illness of leukaemia. Is been with her for days my dad said to go home for a wee while to sons time with my boys my youngest wish only 17 months old. I'd fallen asleep and was woken up at 0.40 I was walking around my room scraping at the wall and I couldn't see a thing . My husband had to put the light on as I couldn't find my way back to bed . My dad phone at 0.50 to say my mum had died at 0.40. I think she was coming to say goodbye

Luckystar777 · 28/01/2020 05:41

I used to be very very skeptical and thought death is the absolute end but 2 years ago some very odd things happened just before a relative passed unexpectedly. I believe he communicated with me. I did not see anything, rather, felt a presence, this never happens to me. It was impossible to ignore and it really scared me. Other strange things happened, a phone changing ring tone all by itself, for example. Some other very odd things that have no explanation. Things that made sense after he died and when I was at the funeral, it was very spooky indeed. I do now think that our energy/soul does not die. I think only our body dies. I also think something like telepathy is possible.

It doesn't necessarily comfort me though. I think my old belief about death being a final end was easier because if we do continue without our bodies, what is it like on that other frequency? That kind of worries me.
