If I hear 'Mommy, mommy, mommmyyyyyyyyyy' in this new high pitched screech she's now fond of doing one more time?
I've heard it at least 10 times since school finished at 3.15
Kill. Me.

Lighthearted.. maybe Grin

But............isn't this why noise cancelling headphones were invented?

Just pop them on and smile serenely Smile

AlpineSnow · 23/01/2020 22:53

That's awful @MitziK I really hope the school came down on him like a ton of bricks over injuring you and permanently damaging your hearing Sad In fact i hope the police were involved

Ididit2019 · 23/01/2020 23:08

😂

Ididit2019 · 23/01/2020 23:09

Reading these I have less mum guilt now

cousinboneless · 23/01/2020 23:11

I raise you an ear splitting cough that's been going on since the week before Christmas. That doctors say is just viral. Right down your ear every day. That everyone and his wife comments on Hmm

golddustwomen · 24/01/2020 08:15

@Jollitwiglet oh yes my 2 year old does 'mommy where you' even though I'm right next to him. Or 'mommy what u doing' whilst I'm sitting on the toilet. The toilet seems to be where both of them want to engage in very important chats that can't possibly wait 2 minutes.
OH on the other hand spends 20 minutes on the toilet a day, child free. Maybe even 30 minutes on weekends of child free toilet time. Bliss. Wanker.

Haha, so glad mine’s past that stage. It was the why stage that did for me. In the end I did the same back to him. ‘Mummy, it’s raining outside.’ ‘Why?’ ‘I don’t know mummy.’ ‘Why?’ It kept me amused and the stage passed much faster.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 24/01/2020 08:30

My 6 year old does it, he has asd and when he starts it its like he cant stop. Can go on for hours, i feel like bashing my head on the wall some days

Sometimes the 8 year old joins in trying to be heard over the incessant screeching

Lizzie030869 · 24/01/2020 09:02

@Sexnotgender That's something I've done, hiding in the bathroom.

My 2 girls are 10 and 7 and they still call out 'Muuummmyyy'. I have a feeling of dread whenever an argument starts between them, as I know that one of them is going to call out to me like that. Even worse is when one of them calls it out when I'm on the toilet. I go downstairs and what does she want? The password to the phone she's playing on. Grrr!

golddustwomen · 24/01/2020 09:21

@Whatisthisfuckery fucking brilliant NN

YANBU. I'm seriously considering finding the nearest orphanage and leaving my whinging and moaning 2&3 yr olds there. Little bastards

golddustwomen · 24/01/2020 09:29

@youcancallmequeenE let me know if you find any suitable ones near the West Midlands. I'll meet you there. We can throw them in and head to the nearest pub Grin

This morning I had -
'Mommy why is the grass wet'
'Because it's raining'
'Yes but why does rain make the grass wet'
'The same fucking reason both me and you are wet' 'I'm not sure, ask daddy'

My almost 3yo is speech disordered, a bit under the weather and belligerent as fuck. So the only intelligible think the little darling can say is Mama. MAMA. MAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAA. MAMA! We've been up since 4.40, the walk to and from.school was a nightmare, it is shaping up to be a long day.

KundaliniRising · 24/01/2020 09:34

Noise cancelling headphones and some good music? Sometimes one just needs some peace and calm whilst cookin Wink

puds11 · 24/01/2020 09:35
