To ask how you dealt with pregnancy tiredness

Because maybe I'm being a bit dramatic but I am literally ready for going home 'sick' from work just so I can have a nap. I am exhausted like I've never felt before.

I went to bed at tea time every night. Totally normal to feel so exhausted. It improves xx

Thanks all. I'm finding the past few nights, that despite being tired like this all day at work, I'm struggling to actually get to sleep at night when I go to bed. Once I'm asleep, I'm like a log but I lie awake for some time despite feeling like this. So frustrating Sad it's almost like it's a complete lack of energy rather than tiredness, does that even make sense? Like my limbs are incredibly heavy and my head is all foggy.

Also worrying because no energy = no motivation, so my current meals consist of whatever takes the least amount of time possible. Tonight's tea has been a bag of salt and vinegar crisps so far.

DH gets home from work at 7 but not sure I can hold out until then 😴😴

When I had that complete lethargy you are describing in pregnancy my iron levels were low. Could that be worth getting tested? I think it was later in pregnancy but principle should be the same I guess!

It's awful! I feel your pain. Helpful but not incredibly reassuring advice - my first I just slept, came home from work and slept, felt knackered all the time. My second, trying to deal with the tiredness and a toddler and full time work, I just did it. I was the same amount of tired but I felt like keeping my activity levels up really did help. It's tempting but try not to give in and just push through - it gets better!

Oh god the first trimester is the absolute worst. The feeling of being so tired you could fall asleep standing up combined with not being able to tell anyone is so exhausting

Echo the advice given here, just sleep as much as you can, get your work done as much as possible in the morning then book out fake meetings in the afternoon to have some rest, listen to your body as much as possible

It really does pass!
