To find my children annoying.....

Pat123dev · 21/01/2020 19:28

I love my children, but sometimes (read often), they just annoy the hell out of me. I try my best not to show it, but the eldest, 8 will come up and bounce in my face or copy what I say, 6 year asking 50 million questions....5 year your old just rolling around....it's all typical behaviour and they're often well behaved, and I live them too pieces. But I just find I sonetines want to say bugger off!! And they do something lovely and I feel bad lol.

My toddler went all floppy on the floor and refused to move in the supermarket today. Was so tempted to just leave them there among the fresh produce.

megletthesecond · 21/01/2020 21:51

Mine answer every request with "why?". Drives me nuts.

DukeChatsworth · 21/01/2020 21:53

@ActualHornist

Of course YANBU!

One of mine is being particularly annoying at the moment - every single thing I say to him at the moment is responded to with ‘what?’. Everything.

‘Mum can I have some ice cream please?’
‘Yes’
‘What?’

I want to scream!

Ha ha DD went through this. I fixed it by telling her that from now on, if I say yes to a question and she responds with ‘what’ I’d change my answer to ‘no’! Funnily enough it worked Grin

mnahmnah · 21/01/2020 21:55

Minecraft monologues. Endlessly.

DukeChatsworth · 21/01/2020 21:56

DD13 also likes to tell me every single detail of any fallouts at school:

“So Daisy said this and Jody answered that, and then Lucy said such and such, and then I was like what!!! And then Ben said no way so Becky said yes way and that made Thomas mad so Shelby said this and the Hannah said that............” Ad Nauseum Hmm

I’ve no clue what’s going in and yes it’s VERY annoying Grin

BEST...MUMSNET....POST....EVER 😂😂😂

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 21/01/2020 22:00

Small children repeat themselves constantly and want to play the same inane "games" over and over again. We had my toddler niece over recently and I'd forgotten that thing they do of randomly picking things up and giving them to you, so you then have to say "thankyou", then they either find something else or give you the same thing again. Maddening.

DD used to sing the same two lines from a song, or worse, a bloody nursery rhyme, over and over again until I had to be a grumpy mum and ask her to stop.

Muddlingalongalone · 21/01/2020 22:03

Muuuuuummmm - do you know what???
No sweetheart who is what??
Ad nauseum- play them at their own game....you've got 30+ years of advantage😂
Dds are 8 & 5 and spend their entire time either bffs or bitter enemies...

Vinniepolis · 21/01/2020 22:04

Like mnahmnah, my DD8 is gripped by Minecraft mania and It It So Effing Boring I Want To Scream.

MissSmiley · 21/01/2020 22:13

This is why small children look so cute because if they didn't we'd sell them on eBay

Unusualsuspicion · 21/01/2020 22:14

Mummy?
Yes darling?
Mummy?
Yes what is it?
Mummy!
What?!
Mummy...I saw a cat.
How lovely darling Hmm

Repeat ad nauseam, with minor variations, over a mile of school run twice a day. Drives me bananas.

Mumtotwo82 · 21/01/2020 22:14

Annoying daily... I think we are instinctively made to love them so much, mainly so we will put up with how annoying they are Grin

Mumtotwo82 · 21/01/2020 22:17

@mnahmnah

Minecraft monologues. Endlessly.

This is my life!

mnahmnah · 21/01/2020 22:18

@Vinniepolis

God yes. Agonising. I have it punctured with the 3yo whining ‘mummy neeeed you’ repeatedly. Plus the two of them bickering and wrestling and the tears. You know, perfect after a day dealing with teenagers at work Confused

mnahmnah · 21/01/2020 22:19

@Mumtotwo82

Welcome to the zombie pig man enderman club!

MereDintofPandiculation · 21/01/2020 22:22

I still find mine annoying and he's 30

kierenthecommunity · 21/01/2020 22:28

My 7 year DS veers between singing songs about how much he loves me, to screaming tantrums )which he never had as a three year old), to wanting to ‘tell me something really important’ at 10pm which is usually the most tedious thing ever.

It’s the inconsistency which is the most annoying.

geekone · 21/01/2020 22:30

I then annoy myself telling them off!

Totally this Grin

Thestrangestthing · 21/01/2020 22:32

In the words of Zinnia Wormwood, mine are driving me insane, 6 hours a day at school is not enough!!!

BillyAndTheSillies · 21/01/2020 22:51

I had a total head in hands sob on Saturday because I swear if I'd counted, DS must have said the word "mum" 5000 times before midday.

Why does every game that a three year old invents have to involve sitting on the floor??

The new annoying but cute thing is that he's learnt to "whisper" but in reality, just doesn't say a thing. And then gets annoyed when I have no idea what he's apparently whispered to me.

He's also trying desperately hard to teach my four month old how to say "Ma". And I'm not ready to hear it in tandem quite yet. I'm too fucking tired.

KellyHall · 21/01/2020 22:56

Why does my dd shout "muuummmm" when I'm pushing the pushchair (quickly, because we're always late for everything) and when I stop and crouch down close to listen to the earth shattering news she has for me, does she insist on whispering it so fucking quietly, I can't hear a damn word she's saying? But if I give up and start walking again, "MUUUUUMMMMM, YOU NOT LISTENING TO ME" - 🤯

Fuckitwhynot · 21/01/2020 22:58

Most children are loveable twats, it’s normal.

Mumtotwo82 · 21/01/2020 23:10

Haha Confused The worse thing is being asked what real and what's not..Is cobblestone real? Is a sealamp real? Is a iron ignot real? Do you get them from iron gollums?

whattodo2019 · 21/01/2020 23:10

My DS is soooo annoying I can't begin to tell you!!!!

Mumtotwo82 · 21/01/2020 23:11
