I have bad teeth... we had no dentist appointments or toothbrushes as kids; I didn't brush my teeth until I went into foster care aged 13/14.
Five years ago or so, I saw an NHS dentist who fixed up some holes, including a big one in my lateral incisor, with a big piece of filling. As my teeth weren't very white, he used an off-white filling, which stands out a mile when I smile.
I take antipsychotics which cause a dry mouth and my teeth are a bit sensitive from that, but overall they are in good condition. I hate smiling, though, because they look so bad. Friend's children have even mentioned it. I don't mind them not being bright white, but the filling is SUCH a different colour to the rest of my teeth...
I get married in May and I'd love to have teeth that won't need to be badly photoshopped if I smile in the pictures. Are there any options other than veneers? I don't think I can afford them. I'm very scared of dentists and know that this will be considered cosmetic, so I'd rather have an idea of what could be done and the cost so that I'm ready when I go in - there's more chance of me facing my fear that way!
