And to start naming and shaming the insurance companies on social media?

I was involved in an RTC in the middle of November. I was travelling 20-30 mph approaching a roundabout in the left hand lane of a dual carriageway. Although not actively braking I was gradually slowing down as per the flow of traffic. The police that attended advised me at the scene that I was not liable.

I was hit from behind, then the car that hit me was also hit from behind. We were claiming from the car that us initially. The week before Christmas we agreed a settlement amount that was still a bit short of being able to replace our car like for like but we wanted to get it over with and move on at that point.

Once all the offices open again after New Year they decide that the car at the back has accepted all liability, so the process is going to take even longer. I had to complete further accident reports etc. We have not received our payout yet and have been unable to replace our car.

How can we move this along? Last week apparently everything was escalated to senior management, both in the other parties insurance companies and our own solicitors.

I’m seriously considering going on a social media spree against the insurers, though this generally isn’t my style.

I had a similar thing and it took two years to sort.

The problem was the other parties insurers dragging their heels.

There isn't much you can do

Someone drove into the back of me at a roundabout last January. I was stopped. Police called. admitted full liability. Still not settled- no injury claims - no car hire claims- just a simple excess and overnight/travel claims.

Don't use Admiral Law!

I had to claim from a bus firm and they were dragging their heels saying there was a predetermined process that had to be fulfilled and nothing could possibly happen to speed it up and that I should expect this to take anything from 1-3 years.

Miraculously when I emailed the ceo they were able to push it all through much quicker.

What a joke, yes one of them is Admiral!
Although I’m starting to wonder why our solicitors didn’t prepare us for it potentially taking so long!
We have a hire car, so by taking so long all they are doing are increasing the cost they pay on our behalf.
This is not encouraging.
