...it's my first one that isn't second hand!

What's your most boring exciting purchase? Grin

I was unreasonably excited to get a new DW last year with a tray for the cutlery not just a basket .

I take great delight in setting everything out , no two cutlery pieces touch each other

Easily pleased me Grin

And I like using the DParents GTech vacuum cleaner . I have a Shark which gets DD hair wrapped round the roller and stops picking up .

Welshmaenad · 20/01/2020 22:34

I'm the least domesticated person on the planet but I got a Shark vacuum this week and I'm now contemplating marriage.

Bockbockcaboose · 20/01/2020 23:59

It's a cordless Shark! I love it so much (and DC love Shark Puppet videos so they thought it was hilarious).

I've hoovered the hall, stairs and landing now that it's charged. Neighbours must think I'm mad.

Also... a SENSOR bin?! What wizardry is this?

I got a Shark liftaway duoclean during Black Friday last year, I love it too, it's so much better than my Dysons, I love it that much that I'm about to but another. One for upstairs one for down, I've been telling everyone who will listen about my new Shark. You know those batty old ladies on the bus that talk to you despite not knowing you and you wish they would just go away? That's me lol

lboogy · 21/01/2020 02:27

You only just got your fist hoover? How old are you OP?

I love my robot hover. It's changed my life 😂

PhilCornwall1 · 21/01/2020 05:26

@Bockbockcaboose

YANBU!! I do quite a bit of the hoovering in our house (ok, pretty much al, as I'm a clean freak and also work from home, so do it every day) and I love a good hoover!! We've got a crappy cordless at the moment that just doesn't have enough suck.

When it gets replaced for a really good one, I'll be one very happy man!!

Shev1996 · 21/01/2020 05:28

I love gadgets, so much I often ask for them for presents! I got a Ninja Foodi for Christmas, is my new baby 😂

PhilCornwall1 · 21/01/2020 05:29

Also... a SENSOR bin?! What wizardry is this?

Agreed!!! I need the in my life!!

Bockbockcaboose · 21/01/2020 08:08

lboogy

As I said in my OP, it's my first hoover that isn't secondhand... I've had a hoover previously! My house wasn't 90% fluff and dust until yesterday! Grin

I absolutely live my cordless vacuum. It’s a Dyson which I know isn’t universally liked but I really get on with mine.

I am also super grateful every time I use my now 9 year old Miele washing machine and Bosch tumble dryer, which is daily. They’re the bees knees, especially after having a crap washer dryer for about 7 years.

userxx · 21/01/2020 08:17

I treated myself to a Bosch stick vac as my back is knackered and hetty was getting a bit heavy to lug around daily. I love it! I've only charged it once and it's given me two weeks of zipping around.

I even hoovered the dog with it. He loved it too.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 21/01/2020 08:19

We got the Dyson V11 Absolut recently and its brilliant

Bearlyawake · 21/01/2020 08:26

We recently got our first tumble dryer after years of drying stuff on airers. We have a 10 month old and it had literally changed my life, for someone so small he creates a lot of washing. I also love my vax hoover, it has a pet hair attachment, winning.

greenlobster · 21/01/2020 08:29

I definitely get unreasonably excited over all my kitchen and household gadgets.

The most boring is probably the spray mop I bought a couple of weeks ago. It's absolutely brilliant and I love it even though it can't cope with the textured floor in the bathroom. (I'm a 2 mop household now, which is probably seriously sad)

Herts6789 · 21/01/2020 08:42

I got a closetmaid, closet organisation system thing for Christmas. Honestly best present EVER Grin

Tumble dryer was also a biggy for me - life changing!

MrsCollinssettled · 21/01/2020 08:43

Bought a Shark cordless vacuum and am totally in love with it

Dacquoise · 21/01/2020 08:50

Recently bought a Miele bagless vacuum cleaner (first one) and love it. It won't let go of the carpet so I feel reassured that anything coming off two muddy dogs is being sucked away. Also just had shelves fitted in a dead space under the stairs. Already filled up with stuff I couldn't store anywhere else.

It's the little conveniences in life that make all the difference!

Undercoverworker06 · 21/01/2020 09:03

Sensor bin- wave your hand over the top, bin opens, few seconds later it shuts itself.
Marvellous! It also has manual buttons to open and close it but that's no fun.

Snog · 21/01/2020 09:03

I still love my new cordless after 3 months, it's changed my life

Stayingstrong24 · 21/01/2020 09:28

I got very excited when I had my Hetty Hoover!
I totally get where you're coming from.
I also get excited to try out new cleaning products!!!

userxx · 21/01/2020 10:12

@Dacquoise I'm thinking of adding shelves, how many did you add?

Undercoverworker06 · 21/01/2020 11:46

Bockbockcaboose even better use of a sensor bin- tell your very intelligent daughter (2 degrees!) that the sensor bin is voice activated and seeing how long she stands there shouting "open!". Oh how I laughed!

Dacquoise · 21/01/2020 11:56

@userxx, three deep ones. Storing my printer, iron and cleaning products, puzzles and games and sewing machine on floor underneath first shelf. Ridiculously pleased with the extra storage.
